The City of Blue Springs Sewer Maintenance Department is a city department that offers management of the city s entire drainage system. It combines educational efforts with regular maintenance and investigative practices to prevent blockages. The department demonstrates public presentations to assist its customers understand what can safely be disposed of down the drain. It administers a capital improvement plan that identifies problem areas, schedules immediate and long-range repairs and manages rehabilitation programs on the city s sewer lines. The City of Blue Springs has a sewer utility division that is responsible for the collection of wastewater and its conveyance to a treatment facility. It also operates a water utility division that operates and maintains the city's water towers, storage tanks, pump stations and water mains in order to provide safe water supply to its customers.
