Canyons Restaurant

Whoever wrote the last review of Canyons obviously has no sense of smell or taste. NCSkier has given a rather incorrect and unfair portrait of one of Blowing Rock's dining cornerstones. My family and I eat in the area often and have found that Canyons is one of the only places in Blowing Rock where we can satisfy the whole family; there really is something for everyone, young and old, whether its been a regular menu item or a nightly special. (On the one occasion when my son, a picky eater by nature, was not pleased with his food, it was promptly taken care of by their extremely hospitable staff) The drinks are reasonably priced and actually contain alcohol, something that most area bars haven't quite gotten the hang of yet. For any "tourist" who wants an experience wrapped in rich, colorful history, read the menu; it offers a detailed history of the building which any employee there can elaborate on--I've asked several. And Canyons is now a smoke-free dining atmosphere, just like every other place to eat in the state of North Carolina, so anyone not wanting to eat in a smoky building can do that there as well.

I would recommend this to anyone. Exceptional food a bit pricey but worth it.
