Jones Custom Skate

I recently purchased skates and my daughter was having extremely difficult time skating. I sought out this skate shop and spoke with a very knowledgeable person Lori. I explained what was happening and she offered her phone number and asked that I take pictures and send them to her, as I live 45 minutes away. She felt that some adjustments needed to be made so we made an appointment. When we arrived she gave us immediate attention and was able to help fix the problem. She even went above and beyond giving some tips for my daughter after making sure everything was adjusted properly. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping us. My daughters and myself have been frustrated for months. Now she is back on the ice doing what she loves because of your knowledge, attentiveness to detail and extreme kindness!

I'm not sure about that review from Nicole C. from 2 years ago - never heard of Mrs. Jones behaving that way and we have been going into this shop about 2 years now. Mrs. Jones is very knowledgeable - although she has little patience for wafflers... she is very efficient, can seem brusque at times - but if you tell her what your skater is doing (how many hours on ice, what level they skate) she knows just the right skate to put them into. She does not upsell you into a boot or skate you do not need and we trust this woman without exception to steer us in the right direction. Can not even imagine what was going on and why Nicole C. has that experience

The owner of this shop is absolutely the rudest employee I have ever had to deal with- and, just a pretty awful person.



I had to get some skates sharpened for a girl I nanny. I got to the shop a little early- it was 9:45, they open at 10:00- so I was waiting outside.

A woman pulled up beside my car and started to haul in boxes. I began to back up to get out of her way, when she started YELLING at me. Actually yelling- loud enough that I heard her through closed car windows and music playing.

I rolled down my window to try to figure out what was going on and she yelled a little bit more then just said she was talking to someone else.

Hmm...

I wasn't yelling, throwing up my hands, getting out of the car... nothing potentially threatening on this side.

So, she finished up and pulled away.

One minute later TWO COPS PULLED UP to ask me what the problem was.

Really?

Clearly, they saw I was doing nothing wrong.

Okay, stories over, right? No.

I went into the skate shop and a nice girl was helping me with a purchase. I was waiting on the skates being sharpened.

The owner walked up to sharpen the skates, and lo and behold, it was the crazy woman from the parking lot.

She gave me the stink eye for approximately five seconds, gave me a very short apology and sharpened the skates for free.

Too little too late. I will NEVER give them business again, and would not have this time if I wasn't running an errand for someone else.
