Somerby St. Vincent's One Nineteen

I had lunch with one of my mother's friends at Somerby. The food is fabulous! While leaving the Chateau Dining Room i was greeted by several of the friendly staff members. We stopped by the Football Kickoff party and everyone was having such a good time. I was very impressed with the experience I had in just one afternoon, I can't imagine how much fun it would to live there!

• I work with Seniors all over the Alabama area and have the opportunity to visit many senior communities. I am Most impressed with Somerby One Nineteen. The community is not just beautiful, but offers top quality care and activities that would keep anyone entertained. The overall aspect of Somerby is an A+. My experience of twenty five years working with seniors would put this community at the very top of the list and highly recommended for family members.

I was a visitor to this community with a friend who's mother lives there. It was nothing that I expected, and everything I didn't. The building and grounds were beautiful -- I thought I was in a hotel! We had lunch with her mom that was delicious, were greeted by every employee that we came across, and were impressed with how active everyone seemed. I'll be suggesting Somerby to my Mom and Dad when they are ready to retire!

Somerby at St Vincent's 119 is an amazing community. My grandmother lives there and she has blossomed since moving to the retirement community. Before, she lived at home alone and wasnt able to get out much. Now we can hardly ever get her on the phone! She loves the food and her Somerby friends. Most of all she loves the activities. She does everything from tai chi, learning to paint, and dancing. My family is so grateful for the wonderful team at Somerby. They give us comfort in knowing that our family member is well taken care of.

This is the most impressive retirement community I have ever been to. They have everything that my dad needs and wants. The most impressive aspect of Somerby by far is the staff and residents. They are friendly, welcoming and caring. I know he's in good hands.

“The community was so warm and friendly. There were certain amenities that fit our needs very well. On the fun side of things, they had everything from a pool table to a movie theater to a workout facility. With all the activities, I do not see how anyone can get bored at this facility! Since my father is an avid fisherman, the stocked pond is a definite plus. The staff was very nice and helpful, and the food was delicious. In all, I would recommend this community to anyone who is looking for a home -- not just a place to live.

Somerby has been a blessing to our family! My mother had lived with us for years and her needs were changing. She wanted to have an independent living environment yet feel there were people close to look out for her. Somerby was recommended to us by our family who lives in Greystone. We felt strongly that we should explore the option. Upon driving on campus we observed a wonderful outward environment! I met with the individual in charge of sharing the information and exploring the opportunities at Somerby . After spending time visiting and exploring the home I realized this was exactly what she needed at this stage of her life.! We found just the right room that would appeal to her. She appreciated the support of medical emergency services and interaction with friends her age. Somerby met these desires for that support.

I loved the emphasis on a wellness environment. I knew this would inspire mother to participate at the level she could. Mother has always been a great cook and I saw the importance of the chef in the 5 star dining room which I knew that would appeal to her. Church membership has been important to her all of her life. She has enjoyed being a part of the Somerby church family and getting to know the pastor and his wife. The exercise provisions have met her physical needs when she was physically able to participate. The beauty shop has been an important weekly event for her for many years. This fit right into her needs at this stage. Since mother has been a resident at Somerby we have found the staff to be an important part of the family. Beginning with the administrator, director of activities and other important personalities such as the front desk personnel, maintenance and housekeeping we found a family of those who serve to make a successful environment! We appreciate the love, care and concern that is shown for each resident and their needs. This encouragement carries over to others who live there to befriend other residents. They look out for each other and seek to meet the needs when they can. Somerby has been and still is a blessing to my mother and I am grateful!
