        Lawson State Community College is a public, two-year, multicampus college offering degree and certificate programs. The college has two campuses located in Bessemer and Birmingham, Ala. It provides degree, diploma and certificate programs in health, business, information technology and technical education. The college s social science department provides courses in a wide range of subjects, including criminal justice, early childhood education, psychology, health education, Spanish and history. It s Alabama Center for Advanced Technology and Training provides word processing, database, slideshow presentations, spreadsheets, real estate, health professions, assistive training and desktop publishing programs. The college also provides financial aid, and online and distance learning programs.
