Clare designs and manufactures solid-state relays and high voltage integrated circuits for the global telecommunications industry. Its products include opto-isolators, solar cells, line interfaces, line card access switches, signaling devices, transceivers, power switches and display drivers. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of the IXYS Corporation. IXYS develops and markets primarily high performance power semiconductor devices that are used in controlling and converting electrical power efficiently in power systems for the telecommunication and Internet infrastructure, motor drives, medical systems and transportation. Clare, formerly CP Clare Corporation, was founded in 1937 as a provider of high-voltage switching technology to the telecommunications market. The company is headquartered in Beverly, Mass., and is ISO 9001:2000 certified according to industry standards.
