Warts
Cryotherapy
While most varieties of warts are benign, they may be itchy, painful or embarrassing. Most can be treated through the application of medications like salicylic acid or cantharidin or through cryotherapy, a process of freezing with liquid nitrogen. In especially resistant instances, warts may require laser surgery or surgical excision with a scalpel. In most cases, treatment is permanent and warts do not return.
Medical Weight Loss
A neck lift and or neck liposuction can be performed to remove excess fat beneath the chin and tighten loose skin and muscle in the neck. A less invasive alternative to a facelift, the procedure can produce dramatic results in the patient whose chin and or neck has sagged with age or after weight loss but who retain natural youthful appearing facial skin. Neck lifts may also be combined with a chin implant to augment a softening or small chin.

Mental Health
Psoriasis cannot be cured but it can be treated successfully, sometimes for months or years and occasionally even permanently. Treatment depends on the type, severity and location of psoriasis; the patient's age, medical history and lifestyle; and the effect the disease has on the patient's general mental health. The most common treatments are topical medications, phototherapy, photochemotherapy (PUVA), and oral or injectable medication (for severe symptoms).

General Surgery
Dr. Edgar F. Fincher received both his MD and PhD degrees with honors from The University of Tennessee, Memphis. He then completed early training in General Surgery at Stanford University followed by a research fellowship, also at Stanford University, where he studied mechanisms of skin wound healing. Dr. Fincher then completed his Dermatology residency at Stanford University before relocating to Los Angeles for a Fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery, laser and cosmetic surgery.
Mohs Surgery
Mohs surgery involves the systematic removal and microscopic analysis of thin layers of skin at the tumor site until the last traces of cancerous tissue have been eliminated. The immediate and complete microscopic examination and evaluation of excised tissue is what differentiates Mohs surgery from other cancer removal procedures. Only cancerous tissue is removed, minimizing both post-operative wound size and the chance of regrowth.
Reconstructive Surgery
The final step in the Mohs procedure is wound repair or reconstruction. Options for post-surgical repair vary depending on the extent of the wound and include letting the wound heal naturally; closing the wound with sutures, skin flaps or skin grafts; or more extensive plastic or reconstructive surgery. Whatever procedure is chosen may be performed by the Mohs surgeon, the original referring physician or another physician. Scar revision is possible later on with tissue fillers, dermabrasion, chemical peels, laser resurfacing or other methods.

Botox
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a highly purified protein injected into the skin to relax the muscles that cause some kinds of wrinkles. While BOTOX Cosmetic can treat certain medical conditions, such as excessive sweating, it is most commonly used for cosmetic purposes, primarily to reduce wrinkles on the face and neck. BOTOX Cosmetic injections are relatively painless, as the needle used is significantly smaller than those used for other injectable fillers.

Liposuction

Harvesting of the fat is performed using a mini-liposuction technique or can be combined with larger liposuction / liposculpture procedures.

Blepharoplasty
Dr. Fincher is an expert at eyelid rejuvenation. He co-edited a textbook on Blepharoplasty surgeries and has authored many text book chapters and journal publications on cosmetic eyelid surgery describing the latest techniques for eyelid rejuvenation. Eyelid surgery is done using local anesthesia and the incisions are hidden from site. It is a safe surgery performed on an outpatient basis, generally in less than 1 hour. The recovery time varies between patients, but usually is 7-10 days. Following this short recovery time, results are immediate and last years. Both upper and lower eyelids can be done at the same time, and/or the procedures can be combined with other procedures such as laser resurfacing to maximize results.

Laser Resurfacing
The latest technology for laser skin resurfacing is the Total FX® fractional CO2 laser. This laser reduces lines and wrinkles, sun spots and tightens skin restoring a more youthful appearance to your skin. Better yet, the Total FX® accomplishes this with half of the normal healing time of traditional laser resurfacing. Advances in fractional laser technology allow the Total FX® laser to treat portions of the skin and still provide excellent results in a safer treatment and with a reduced healing time compared to traditional CO2 resurfacing. Crow's feet, loose eyelid skin, and sun damaged skin all respond beautifully to the Total FX®.

Dermabrasion
Treatment for rosacea may be long-term, but most patients notice an improvement to their symptoms within one to two months. Patients can reduce the risk of flare ups by identifying certain triggers that lead to flare ups, and then trying to avoid them. Flare ups can also be reduced by wearing sunscreen, protecting the eyes and providing gentle but thorough care for your skin. If permanent skin damage has occurred as a result of rosacea, advanced treatments such as dermabrasion, cryosurgery or laser surgery may be performed to improve the appearance of the skin.
