A friendly neighborhood bar – nothing fancy mind you but we enjoy the free entertainment on Fridays and the singing and dancing too. We have also watched several playoff games there as the big-screens are well positioned throughout and the prices are reasonable as compared to other locations. Quite a diverse crowed too; a good mix of young and old based on our experience. Everyone who walks in is encourage, at some point, to join in the fun. John's host's and is quite the showman as he tries to get everyone involved. I must admit that it’s also nice to walk around and chat with people and not have to worry about some goof slithering up next to my wife as she enjoys the show. An all-around, decent neighborhood bar!
The Billy Goat Tavern in the O'Hare airport lacks that old Chicago feel of the one located on Michigan Ave. in downtown, but the food is definitely of the same quality, and they try to keep it as true to the original as possible, with one major difference...they actually have Fries! You will find this place in the United Terminal. When in line, you are still greeted by shouts for your order...order a hamburger, they ask if you want a cheeseburger... ask for a single, they ask if you want a double. No Pepsi, coke...but when other locations have only chips, this place has some great fries. The Billy Goat is classic Chicago... so if you do not have the chance to make it downtown, make a stop here.
This is my favorite Korean restaurant in Chicago so far. Everything I've had is sooo good... all of the ban chan, ja jang myun, kalbi, and bulgogi. The kimchi jigae is tastey to me, though my boyfriend complains that it is not spicy enough. He always asks them to add a little something to make it extra spicy, but maybe they think that he can't handle it because he's a hwaiteu? :D We also like to order a bottle of soju to go along with our meal. It tastes very smooth, but will get you pretty buzzed so be careful! Costs about $10 a bottle. Another bonus is Service is good for a Korean place. I highly recommend this place.
