I was seen by Ashley. She is fabulous. Very friendly and helpful. Genuinely cared. I highly recommend this practice.

Dr. Furlong first saw me when I got a big toe removed and she walked into his hospital room saying “have u learned your lesson yet.”

Then started calling my home at 8 AM telling me that I needed to make an eye doctor appt. I know when I need to go see an eye doctor.

I was going for on a routine exam and were told without warning that I HAD Hep C. (by a Nurses Assistant.) Dr. Chopra ordered test on her own WITHOUT my “informed consent.” After second blood test was done was told “not active at this time” What exactly does that mean? Finally found another doctor who told us I did not “have” HEP C – I had the antibody to PREVENT me from getting it.

Been going to the bethel park office off of higbee for years and has never disappointed me. Very straight to the point staff and always friendly. I highly recommend this location!

I have been going to South Hills Fam Medicine at the Waterfront for several years. I saw Dr. Furlong for a deep pain in my lower back, explained I had had several trauma's to this area. She did not listen to me, diagnosed it herself and sent me to physical therapy without first even doing any testing. Come to find out, I have two fractured bones to this area and the type of physical therapy I was doing was not the right type of excercises. This is clearly negligence in my opinion. What kind of doctor, if they are any good, sends you out for treatent and doesnt even get testing done first to actually see whats wrong. Then, when you call her on it, she doesnt have the decency to answer and asks you to leave their practice. I would never send ANYONE to these people, EVER.

I have been seeing Dr. Furlong at the Bethel Park location for several years and have been extremely impressed. I've always been able to get an appointment and have never had to wait too long in the waiting room. I love that all of my records are kept electronically. Not only does this provide ease in getting prescriptions, etc. I am able to have my records transferred promptly when needed. Also, I've used the Patient Portal when I've had questions, concerns or needs and have ALWAYS received a prompt response. Thumbs up for SHFM

Just visited this office a couple of days ago. I called around noon that day and they were able to fit me in for an appointment at 2:45 for my illness. That was a positive. Unfortunately, when I got there I had to wait almost an hour to see someone. The doctor was nice but basically talked to me like a 10 year old. Maybe they're used to doing that with kids, but I'm a grown adult. Be respectful to your patients. The guy that flushed out my ears was kind of odd and unprofessional. Treated me in kind of the same way. Doctor prescribed Amoxicillin for my illness. I asked her if it would take my fever down as well. She said yes. Found out later it doesn't specifically do that. Receptionist was kind of rude as well when asking me questions. These practices need to be more respectful to their patients. A person is already feeling terrible physically. Don't demean and disrespect them on top of it.

I have been using this practice for years for my whole family. I have never had a problem getting an appointment, usually within an hour of calling. We have been treated for many things of varying medical levels, and have never had a problem. The entire staff is caring and compassionate. They keep up with calling me with lab results and with calling to check in on the kids if they are sick. We do not abuse the office with frivolous questions or unnecessary visits. I have recommended many people to this practice, and have not had one single complaint. They are a class act.

I made the mistake of going back to this office after they had me wait over 2 hours for a pulled stomach muscle! I ended up leaving that apportionment before even seeing a doc and going to the hospital! Today I went because I felt as if I had a sinus infection and strep throat! After the doc swabbed my throat she left and said if it was strep she would call in a scrip! She never once asked about my sinus issues and never checked anything else! This office is horrible and I agree with all other negative comments on this site!

I agree with the reviewer who gave them 1 star. I found the office staff to be very arrogant and snooty. They sent me a letter also dropping us from their practice and I'm pretty sure it's because I called for a prescription for antibiotics and couldn't come in to the office. I told them to just forget it when they insisted I had to come in and next thing I knew, I was no longer a patient.

I am a Patient at the Waterfront location after several phone calls to get my medicine and health situated went ignored and tossed around and basically they just can choose to end your treatment with the office???I am 40 years old mother of 3 who got really sick in the last two years and not one thing has been resolved and I have never seen such lack of concern and medical bullying in my life. If you do not do just as they say you will be tossed aside and out. It is sad there is no one to tell my story to they ruined and made my life upset for 2 years and did nothing to follow up with my treatment when I pressed for treatment they just ignored the so called messages and I am sad that a place with such nice nurses who listened had such bad Doctors who do not care. I am sure Dr Furlong is great she is the boss I wonder if she knows and the other head people know how the younger Doctors are handling the patients, It is sad,

I have been seeking treatment from this office for about 2 years now.. I first went cause of weakness and heart palpuataions.. They did a few blood test and were unable to figue out whats wrong,, I went back a few more times and they finally ordered several test costing my insurance several thousands of dollars.. What was the problem?? A reaction to ACESULFAME K.. This could have been easliy figured out by asking me what ive changed recently in my daily life, diet, and having a few converstations.. Funny thing is I had to figure this out my self with online research.. They never came up with an answer.



. But they did order a, EKG, MRI brain scan, dopplar for circulation costing my insurance company thousands of dollars.. Doplar was ordered cause of adverse side effects from a statin drug.. Instead of just discontinuing the med witch is known for these side effects and waiting to see if it was the cause.. They recomended I keep taking the drug.. But again with my own online research I figured I would stop taking it against their advice.. A month later the problems I had were gone



later i had a visit in feb about a neck injury.. Was examaned for 30 seconds by choppa and told I had muscle spasims.. Prescribed a muscle relaxer.. I have been back several times about the contunious pain. Each time I go im treated worse and wrose.. After today I will never return.. I was not examed, and when I asked him about figuring out whats wrong with my neck he said i can't do anything with out pics.. Go see a spine specialist.. You made me suffer in paiin for 9 months before recomending this??



I then asked him to explain a few things about my previous injury as instructed by my laywer for a legal case., He would not let me speak or ask questions and when i did get a word in and ask a question he refused to answer them, then preceeded to ask me who my laywer was?? Im sorry but thats none on your business and is not relavent to my treatment!! . He was extreamly rude.. Their PA Karin has seen me most times ive gone and if I had to guess I would say she was not sober a few of them.. I would never recomend this practice..



Ive gave enough info for them to know who I am... Maybe next time they will treat pateince with more respect!! I will be filling a formal complaint with my insurance company!!

SHFM is the best family practice group in the entire area; Dr. Furlong and Dr. Chopra are fantastic, empathetic doctors and I feel lucky to have them as my primary-care doctors.
