Motel 6

I will never do business with this place, unless they either: a) hire new clerks; or b) get new management. Reasons are as follows:

I called a little after midnight to find out about rates and to inquire on the availability of cable, WiFi, etc...

I had a difficult time understanding the guy, which I can deal with, but I could tell he had an attitude towards me - likely because I had him repeat himself a little bit.

Then, in the midst of asking him a question, I could hear that he was hanging up on me. Definitely not accidentally, as it was obviously an office/desk phone, which requires intention when disconnecting the line.

So, I called back - unwilling to accept that a business would intentionally be that rude to a customer. I hoped he had misunderstood me and thought (how, I can't imagine) that I had said bye.

This time, a female answered. She seemed very friendly and almost apologetic for the earlier mishap.

So, I asked her about the rates and amenities since I wanted to be sure I had understood the information I had gotten from the man during the previous call.

I asked the price again and whether it was a double or not, just to be clear before I went and tried to check-in.

The response I got from her was: "Like you were already told the last time you called, it's $65.04 (or whatever the price was) for the room. "

I couldn't believe my ears. How rude and unprofessional. I asked if she had really just replied with, "you were already told", and she got lippy some more. I informed her that I would be completing a bad review and steering everyone clear of their business.

Maybe I'm overreacting, but I was having a horrible night - it was an emergency during which my children and I had just been physically and mentally abused. I was trying to take my children out of the danger zone by getting us a room for the night.

Noone deserves to be berated by a business they're inquiring on just because they asked something more than once.

We instead went to Rodeway Inn, further south on Fort Crook Rd. The desk girl there, thankfully, did not add to the drama of an already hectic night. I suggest taking your business there as the rates are comparable and the staff is incomparable.
