I was really unhappy with my first enterprise experience. First, we had to pay about a hundred dollars more than we reserved the car for online. Halfway through our drive, the "check coolant fluid" light came on, and we wasted about two hours of our trip trying to figure out what to do with an unsafe vehicle. Turns out enterprise's "24-hour" roadside service won't assist you until the locations open, around 7 am. We took the car to an enterprise location in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where we were told they had no extra cars for us. The man next to me was given lots of options. "How can you be giving him options when you're telling me you have no extra cars?" I asked them. "He has a reservation," the man said. Apparently it didn't matter that I had an unsafe car with an emergency. The location in Montana was understanding of this issue with the Cheyenne location and ended up giving us a discount, which I appreciated. However.. A rock also cracked our windshield. We had not purchased insurance. I am now stuck still dealing with enterprise's claim service, who aren't getting back to me and still haven't sent the form they were supposed to send weeks ago. Really annoyed, and won't be using them again.
I have been renting autos and trucks for many years and always have found Enterprise to be a good source. While hunting in Montana I rented a Ford F-150....what a piece of crap (in my opinion) I had an accident in the snow and I am not sure 4-wheel was working properly. If I had my F-250 this never would have happened! However, Melissa at the Bozeman counter was just perfect when I called and told her. I put her in touch with my insurance company and when I returned the (ugh) vehicle all was taken care of and I didn't miss my flight. Thanks again Enterprise for a great deal. Ford???? Get a better idea!
I can see by reading the other reviews that it's hit and miss at this particular location. It's a smaller airport. I understand that they're not going to schedule legions of employees in case there's a line of customers waiting. In my case, my vehicle was ready, the employee at the counter was very professional and courteous, and I was out the door. There was an error in my favor--no cars available in the class I reserved, so they bumped me up to a better car at the same price. I won't complain about that. Will definitely rent again the next time I'm in Bozeman.
