In September 2008 I had an aluminum roof (Country Manor Shake) installed by Classic Metal Roofing. Soon after they (installers) left, I noticed that the ridge cap they had installed was a thin, flat on both sides piece of metal that seems to run the length of the roof and were not the Country Manor Shake ridge caps that I paid for. I immediately called Mr. Greg Pell, the owner and informed him, among other things, that the ridge caps that were installed didn’t match the roof and those they were not the Country Manor Shake ridge caps shown in the brochures. I also informed Mr. Pell that his installer left without completing the warranty document. Mr. Pell assured me that all of the problems would be corrected. On October 2, 2008 I sent Mr. Pell an E-mail requesting an update on his plans concerning the ridge caps. Mr. Pell sent me an E-Mail on the same day stating,” Hello Linwood, Dale said he will probably help me at the New Bern home show in Oct and said he would install the ridge caps then. Thanks – Greg”
Approximately one week after my last contact with Mr Pell, the Country Manor Shake ridge caps were delivered to my residence. In November 2008 I received E-mail from Mr. Pell’s installer informing me that he needed an additional 800.00 to change the ridge caps. After paying 16,500.00 for this roof from my retirement account, I didn’t have the money nor did I think that it was fair that I should pay again since he could have done it right the first time. A few weeks later the installer called and left a message stating that he will be installing another roof on a home in my area and would stop by to pick up the Country Manor ridge caps delivered to my house to use on that roof; however he never showed. My current problem is that the thin piece of metal that was installed over the ridge of my roof is beginning to separate and lift upward and I am afraid that a moderate storm will remove it completely. Subsequent attempts to contact Mr. Pell were unanswered. I called the main Classic Metal Roofing office in Ohio and was told to contact the specific dealer and was immediately disconnected. Classic Metal Roofing does shoddy work, don’t complete the warranty paperwork and is very unprofessional. Don’t believe their Internet advertising. I feel robbed and can’t get over the depression it has caused me.
