EXCELLENT ON ALL FRONTS had a delicious wonderful full meal outside on a Saturday afternoon and I had forgotten how fabulous this place was. Had the fresh Crab dinner yum yum and of course their creme brulua for desert (best in the word) could had two. The service was better then I remembered but never had a bad meal here. Regina with her crew did great and gave it that little extra something to please us. Our usual fish house we had dined at for years in Beaverton a chain at a mall had just down hill the last 3 times we had been there this year. It was time to revisit McCormack and Schmidt and we will be back again soon. Especially since my husband is not a seafood person at all. His Kobe burger and fries were delicious. For sure a treat but we got our moneys worth.

Cozy bar and nice help but the kind of food Gordon Ramsey would come in and tear a place up for.

Spinach dip is ... well, nothing short of green muck w/little flavor. The chips w/it are bland as well, dusted w/a paprika colored 'seasoning'.

Fish tacos- which at a seafood resturant should ROCK. Were unacceptable. Dry dry dry from the wrap to the fish. Fish was over cooked dry scraps making you wonder if this is the stuff left on the grill from cooking dinner servings of fish. Again.. dusted w/the paprika-like bland seasoning and some chopped tomatoes thrown in.
I find it stunning I can go to Taco DelMar and get a far superior fish taco than at this seafood resturant. Superior in the wraps, tomatoes and onions are fresh and the fish moist and hot.
Yes, tastes are different from person to person but overcooked bland food is hard to miss.

Peel and eat shrimp... the only item ordered that saved my lunch. The shrimp were, thankfully, not over cooked but again.. dusted w/the mystery dust.

All at the table agreed the kitchen 'seems' to hit every order w/this brownish red seasoning that is curious at best.

This was the 3rd try- we wont be back

Make other plans

We just returned from what was to be a celebration at this restaurant. We were very disappointed by the food. Our kids came with us and they didn't even eat their food--how hard is it to cook a grilled cheese sandwich or cheeseburger? The seafood was definitely off, not prepared well & sides weren't even trying to be good. Risotto that would be easily bettered by boxed risotto from the supermarket.

This place is YUMMY! Just the dinner salad w/shrimp is delicious!

Good chain retaurant you can depend on

Has part of the McCormick & Schmitt chain you can count on the quality of food, selection, and atmosphere. This location is now a bit off the beaten path compared to the new location at Bridgeport. That makes it a bit easier to get into and less parking issues.

The wine and food selection is good. The staff is well trained, professional, and seem to enjoy treating you to a night out.

What pulled my rating down. Well, my family and I had Thanksgiving dinner here today. The rolls we were served were cold and of the type you buy from a food distributor. By cold, I mean out of the fridge cold. I was expecting a bit more of a hand touch - or at least warmed up! The meal was good but not great. I think I got a whole tablespoon of cranberry a sauce. The prince in the restaurant was $19.95 vs. the $18.95 advertised. It was good but not a great meal or value for the money.

Still, a nice place to go to after work or those dates and outings were you are not looking for anything new or different. It is a chain after all.

It was just ok

We had an appetizer and two entrees (no drinks) and spent $60 and it was NOT worth it. The seared tuna was bland and chewy. The shark steak was so overpowered by blackened seasoning that we could have been eating a shoe for all I know because that was rubbery, too. Our waitress was a little annoying, overly friendly and working at a super high speed without allowing us time to look at the menu, or talk to each other. I guess that is better than a waitress who isn't around at all, but something in between would have been nice. Food was edible but not great. I would not go there again.

Great time, reasonable price...

We were seated within 5 minutes of our reservation time. Our waiter (Roy) was Awesome-He was very personable, knowledgeable of the specials (& dishes in general), & friendly with a great sense of humor. He was attentive, but he wasn't a hovercraft :) My Mom & I are not big eaters, so we asked if we could share a meal. Roy said that was fine (& didn't treat us any differently), They split our meal in the kitchen & we had a delicious dinner (& dessert)! We had Crab/Shrimp cakes for our appetizers, Stuffed Salmon for dinner, & a triple dessert (Blueberry cobbler, Creme Broule, & a sort of rich, dark- Chocolate Mousse)... OMG! EVERYTHING WAS SOOO GOOD!!

Overpriced Bland Food

This use to be the best seafood in Portland but it has really gone down hill. We can actually make better tasting fish at home with a little butter, wine, and seasoning. They need to send the chefs back to cooking school. The booths are very tight so if you are a little overweight, don't ask for a booth. Very expensive for bland food, we were very disappointed in this restaurant. Won't go back again, we prefer the regional fish chain that is on Cedar Hills Blvd.

$12 plate of lettuce

My wife and I had two $50 gift certificates, so we figured we'd get a nice meal. When we ordered our dinner, the waitress(she was nice, actually) asked if we'd like a salad with it. We ordered the 'tomato' salad, which turned out to be a plate of lettuce, a few frozen shrimp, and two sliced tomatoes on the side. They threw in a big hunk of mozarella cheese as well...strange indeed. For the main course I had the shrimp and scallop pasta, my wife had the salmon and halibut dish. The food was just decent, but nothing to write home about. I think Lean Cuisine makes something similar. Needless to say the bill ended up coming to $50.40, the salad was 12 bucks! And of ocurse the waitress told us that if we use both of our $50 certificates, the one that's covering the $.40 would be used up and we wouldn't get the balance back. Oh gee, can we?!!? God bless this fish house, it was the best $12 plate of lettuce I've ever had.
