Had a great birthday dinner last evening Our hostess April, did a fantastic job serving us and the others there. The menu was impressive and the food was well presented, ample and above all very tasteful. Our visiting family who are well traveled were very much impressed. Suga's had also been suggested by one of our son's business associate. Definitely a positive to Beaumont's restaurant scene, a five star high end restaurant bar.
We went there twice. Both times the food was WAY over priced for what you get. It's sounds fancy, but really nothing special. First time we went hubby had Eggs Benedict, and it was pretty good, lotsa sauce, decent portion. The last time we went (LAST TIME FOR SURE) he got one little egg on half a muffin with hardly any benedict sauce. So, if you go for the music...stick with that and just order drinks. Pass on the food, unless you just enjoy paying an outrageous price for bad food.
I was called by your establishment on 14 Dec. 2011 and informed that I had won the 21 days of Christmas from KBMT 12 News a $100.00 Gift Certificate to Sugas Deep South Cuisine and Jazz Bar, the lady asked me if I wanted to pickup it up or have it mailed to me. I informed her that I would like to have it mailed to my residents of 1804 Lindenwood Drive, Orange, TX 77630, she informed me that it should be mailed out on 15 Dec. 2011. On the 22 Dec. 2011 I called your establishment to find out why I had not received the $100.00 Gift Certificate and was told to talk to the manager, where I was informed by the manager that it would be mailed out after the Xmas holidays, the other three times I called I was transferred to the manager and had to leave a voice-mail message trying to find out why I hadn't received the Gift Certificate. This is a formal notice in-which I'm trying to find out what happened to the Gift Certificate that I have not received to date 7 Jan. 2012. Please contact me via this email, I'm also notifying KBMT 12 News. The other option is to contact the BBB.org and see what they can find out, along with leaving a bad write up about how your establishment keeps putting me off and not helping me with this problem.
My first time to take my mother in law out to what I thought would be an excellent resteraunt. The prices are very high compared to the quality of the food. We shared one plate of food and one appetizer + 2 drinks, over 40.00. Not only were they out of shrimp and oysters, but were out of bread. Which the waiter forgot to tell us after he said "I'll be right back with your bread"(after 30 minutes). Still waiting on our entree 45 minutes after eating our 3 med. raviolis for 12.00 w/no bread, we get our one plate. Waiter said i'll be back with your plates for sharing. Never saw those! I'm glad we were comfortable eating after each other. Oh, also the silverware had serious spots all over. I was embarrased to have brought her there. I had very high expectations, to which led to a big dissapointment. Next time it's Pappadeauxs!
