The business was started by sole proprietor & inventor Kennon McKinney fresh out of high school over 27 years ago at the young age of 18. Started out hand cleaning awnings under the name Spotless Awnings but shortly grew into a full service canvas and vinyl Awning & Canopy custom fabrication company. Now as Back-Lit Awnings & Canvas this company is hands down the BEST fabric awning company in the S. Texas region. We are a small company that pays enormous attention to the highest detail. Back-Lit Awnings & Canvas did an outstanding job when we needed shade for tennis court bleachers. They are very well built and came in below budget. The whole project was done even before the last bid came it. I just laughed when I got the last bid because by then....the job was done!
