Christian Counseling Center of Battle Creek

I would not recommend getting marriage counseling here if you're experiencing serious issues. Our counselor did not take my husband's anger issues seriously and focused on encouraging us to have more fun together (which was not a problem for us). Our sessions were very superficial. Also, when I came to the counselor one time alone because of a terrible fight with my husband, I ended up feeling like my feelings were illegitimate. The counselor asked me if I had been praying enough for my husband. I've prayed like crazy for my husband and our marriage. It was so bizarre. I was in his office, hurt and crying, and at one point he asked me why I didn't go to the gym with my husband, as if me going to the gym would stop my husband's anger. It felt like he was placing the burden of my husband's anger on me. I left there feeling like I had no support from the counselor. I do not recommend this place unless your marriage problems are superficial.

Two times in less than six months I was dropped from scheduling. I was told that it was going to be a month or more before I could get just one appointment... not to mention that it still would not be a weekly or otherwise schedule after that. Not a good thing when you count on those sessions. To top everything else though is that I didn't even receive a phone call from them after expressing that I was in distress and needed assistance on a very "bad day".

This was a horrible worthless experience. The marriage counseling was ineffective with. Very little real counseling. The counselor cancelled our appointments with little notice more than he made scheduled payments. Eight months after I paid my bill and closed the a count they started billing me again. I need to find a counselor to help me deal with all the strife this center has caused me. Do NOT use this center!!!

I really like my counsellor Karen there, she is so caring and knowlegable. Always polite, and understanding. I had alot of issues to discuss with her, and she has always been a pleasure to talk to. I believe she has helped me TREMENDOUSLY, and Im so glad God brought her into me and my grandaughters life.
