El Rio Grande has been our favorite Mexican restaurant since we first discovered it 9 years ago. We have introduced El Rio Grande to many of our friends and relatives, both locally, and from out of town. El Rio Grande has become their favorite Mexican restaurant as well, and when we have visitors from out of town - they always ask to go back there. The food is authentic, flavorful, and always fresh. Their guacamole is beyond compare! Made to order, using fresh avocados, and not blended with other ingredients to make it stretch further. Their salsa is a family recipe, and their margaritas are the best in the area too. A large amount of the patrons there, have been loyal customers for years, adding to the friendly, accommodating atmosphere. We have poked our heads into the kitchen on many occasions, just to say "hi" to the crew, and have never witnessed anything unclean, or questionable.
I went to Superior Grill despite hearing negative rumors of racism and poor service. Our waiter took our drink order and then disappeared for about 20 minutes. The food was great, margaritas were pretty good, we got the 2/1 deal. We paid and left and the next day I checked my bank account and my card had been charged almost triple what I had ordered. Called and spoke to the manager who hassled me about the receipt and where I was sitting etc. He said they would credit my account but that has yet to happen.
Sunday Brunch Mojo Pulled Pork! Two poached eggs over tastey pulled pork over Texas toast covered with creamy sauce. Great Tasting. Comes with hashed potatoes and creamy cheese grits. Wife had Brunch Burrito which was huge filled with 6 items. Chips are fresh & thin but dip is not regular tomato salsa but is tasty. Frozen Margaritas are reasonable and good. Service is friendly and helpful. Eat outdoors if weather permits!
