Nearly anything you eat at Uncle O's is delicious. In fact, I really haven't found anything I didn't like so far. The roast beef poboys have nice, thick slabs of meat and yummy brown gravy. The bread was delicious and not tough at all. His crawfish and corn soup is fantastic but do not eat it if you don't want a warm tummy that makes you sleepy! He does a nice Sensation salad dressing that's the favorite of many in my office. My fav dishes there are the gumbos and his fried catfish. They just might be the best in the city. Uncle O's used to be a restaurant but the owner closed that and opened a smaller place across the road from his old location. He's still getting everything together over there and the seating is limited as the new place is really more take-out. But the owner is a very nice gentleman who cares very deeply about his customer's satisfaction and that's one of the things that keeps me coming back.
Went to eat there recently, wasn't all that impressed. It may have been the place to go in it's heyday, but that was a long time ago. Apparently they decided to rest on their laurels and reputation instead of keeping up with the times and competition. Our seafood on this day was overcooked, too salty, and the waiter had an attitude as if waiting tables was beneath him. I understand an LSU student trying to make a few extra bucks might not like the job, but the school of hard knocks is going to give him a few lessons of it's own one day.
Uncle O's is now open directly across the street from its original location in the lot with all of the used cars inside the building. Tiger Bait Grill is not Uncle O's and we have not changed our menu we still have Fried Turkeys and everything we had at the old O's except for less eating that will improve as soon as possible same number but the new address is 14555 S Harrell's Ferry Road. Stop by you will not be dissapointed. Hours are Monday- Friday 11am to 7pm and Saturday 11am to 2pm Thanks and hope to see you soon at O's !!!
