I travel all around NY as my job…
I travel all around NY as my job requires and have the luxury of eating any where I prefer as my job pays for this. I must say the staff, the selection and atmosphere are remarkable to that of a five star restaurant. I should know! I am a pharmaceutical rep and my clients require the best. Each time I make my pass through the Genesee County region my clients specify going to South Beach Restaurant. Any type of negative review I have read must have been posted by a jealous competitor. My company appreciates me dining here because a dinner for 4 rarely exceeds $125 and my clients of course pay no mind to the cost only the quality. The decor is great.
The decor is great. disappointing menu, When you hear South Beach, I would expect seafood to make up a good portion of the menu. Less than 12 dinner menu options. They didn't even have any sort of shell fish as a dinner option. I had a steak that we one of the worst I've ever had out...under seasoned and tasteless.
My wife had one of their fish options, and it was good but nothing exceptional.
Bar/Wine Menu was equally not that impressing. South Beach... I'm thinking signature tropical drinks? While I did see the possibility of getting one at the bar , nothing at the dinner table. Nothing recommended or advertised. No real microbrews except Sam Adams and Magic Hat #8 ( I'm guessing it was #9, but just a typo on the menu.) No NY wines on their wine list.
The decor is great, personally I think they need to hire a chef to redo the menu. I was expecting a lot more along the lines of Alex's Place. The place was basically empty when we got there at 1pm. -
Awful lunch buffet
I have never written a negative review. The decor is nice, staff nice.
The food was horrible. Lunch buffet had chicken breasts I could barely cut and could NOT chew. Fish was so rubbery I had to saw it. Broccoli was mush.
I could go on and on. I have NEVER had such bad food. -
