Since I was a teenager, I have been shopping @ Fire Fly's in Highlandtown. I love that place! It has a great feel to it good vibes all around, nice environment- maybe not the nicest neighborhood, esp. compared to what it was, but anyway. I have always had great experiences there, so have all the friends that I have recommended. The staff is knowledgable and extremely ( honestly- EXTREMELY) friendly. I have tried to spread the love to the competetors across the street- Doc's: a little too pricey for me and somewhat uptight. For Christ sake don't say the word ""bong' in there! They will treat you like a terrorist! The kids @ fire fly will correct you a million times and still wait on you. All in all, I felt it necessary to write this reveiw to point out their good qualities because it's a good shop and just remember people do have off days! Give em a chance. There good people. I thank the owner everytime I use my roor- for turning the old hippie on to the best thing I've ever owned- and that says a lot! And trust me, I can drop lots of money on my favorite hobby!

DO NOT SHOP HERE! GO ACROSS STREET TO DOC SMOKE SHOP! both times that my friends and I had visited firefly to spend a decent amount of money on glass we had our throats jumped down the second we walked through the door! that manager/employee/owner is not a very nice person considering hes the one with the buisness trying to sell his product to me you think he would be a little more on the nicer side? no, we left the shop within 30 seconds of being there the first time because it is just a bad atmosphere for a headshop. I felt more as though he would have been more suitable to run a library more so then a headshop.DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND PURCHASE ACROSS THE STREET AT DOC SMOKE SHOP! i purchase top quality glass such as illadelph, toro, roor, witch doc smoke shop has everything firefly does and youll have a much pleasant time purchasing from DOCS! ALSO, all fireflys products look like they have been sitting in thoughs glass cases for YEARS! docs is much more put together and has clean cases with items that look like they come and go very quickly! OVERALL SAVE YOURSELF THE PAIN AND GO TO DOC SMOKE SHOP ACROSS THE STREET FROM FIREFLY! YOU WILL RECIEVE THE SAME PRODUCTS IF NOT BETTER AND 100 TIMES BETTER SERVICE!!!

I've been waiting nearly 5 months for a custom made piece from this store, and let me tell you, they are taking way too long to make a small tobacco pipe with a fairly simple design. I understand that there's some time and effort that has to go into hand-blown, custom made pieces but seriously, saying it will be done in ""2 weeks"" and repeatedly extending the time it takes for the piece to be made is ridiculous. I already paid my $50 deposit, and now they are forcing me to either (a) come in and spend the deposit on something else and give up the custom made piece, or (b) be patient and wait another two weeks. It's a total rip off, they're just trying to suck you into their system, the location is pretty poor and obviously the two competing shops located near by has lowered the quality of both stores. They're both huge rip offs and don't know how to operate a friendly environment. Go visit stores up in rockville maryland and you will see where the real glass are.

I purchased an ash catcher for my tobacco pipe not long ago. The ac had a clean hole on the elbow. No cracks or rough edges. guessing it happened when it was being made. but the glass opening when being made means the glass was thin and weak... So i wrap it back up.. put it away and was gonna see if i could get store credit next time im around. i go back and the lady says she cant take any returns. but she does suggest i buy acrylic sealent and seal it up. she was very sorry and i understood. not her fault. so i just seal it up and use it. used it for a couple days and when pulling it out (joints going parallel) the elbow broke! weak glass. gonna shop around more and see what other stores have to offer. but they do have alot of nice stuff at good prices with the friendliest ladies. and i will be back.

I called to inquire about a pair of boots that I needed because I live an hour away and wear a size 11 the manager would not help me when I explained that I would be driving an hour to get there, he just said
'we have plenty of boots to chose from
' and hung up on me.
