have natural hair and went here for a straighten, when I got out of the chair, my hair was still thick and flufffed. It was not straight ! I was very disappointed due to it being a Dominican salon and all the heat I felt just so my hair would not b straight. I should've known After seeing the natural client before me and her hair wasn't all that either when she was finished but I tried to have faith.
I and my daughters have been going to Amanda's for over a year. Everyone always ask us where do we get our hair done because it is so long, healthy and well maintained. We love her warm service, the hair products and the convenient hours. We use the salon for special occassions and bi-weekly maintenance. We always send our friends there.
THIS REVIEW ABOVE IS NOTHING LIKE MY EXPERIENCE. I RECEIVED THE BEST BLOW-OUT RARELY FEELING THE HEAT TO THEIR BLOW DRYERS AND THE STAFF IS VERY POLITE ASIDE FROM DOING GREAT HAIR ! THE OWNER IS A YOUNG MODERN HIP DOMINICAN WOMAN AND SHES GREAT ! THIS IS MY STYLIST AND I WILL REMAIN FAITHFUL TO AMANDA'S 5 STAR SALON I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS SALON

There are dominican salons everywhere, but not all of them are worth the experience. Amandas' 5 Star in particualr is an example of a "BS" shop. The shop operates on a horrible schedule, and the service is all but worth my money. This shop is a waste of space because the owner is a mess!
