Mariscos Puerto Vallarta

I have passed this place many times over the years and yet did not go in; the windows etc always made it look closed. Was next door for another reason so went in to look around. Was so surprised to see a REAL Mexican restaurant in Bakersfield. Got the fish taco on suggestion of lovely waitress, and it was huge. One was plenty for $4.50. I went back the next night to get the whole fried fish..delicious and so filling. I will go back, as I have a couple of weeks to eat alone, and I love seafood. This is the best; I eyed other people's plates and will go back tomorrow for the bacon/cheese shrimp, which is highly acclaimed by many. Don't pass this place up. The furniture is old, and it is mainly Hispanics there, and the menu is in Spanish but with English translations. You can always tell a great ethnic restaurant by whom eats there. The staff was so friendly. You can spend little or a lot. Believe me, the taco at $4.50 is unlike any other Fish taco you have had.
