Where to Go in Austin

Austin's Sixth Street Entertainment District, located between Congress and IH 35, is the nucleus for live entertainment, arts, cultural events, dining and more.

The city rolls out the red carpet to celebrate contributions to and innovations in film, music and multimedia at the annual South by Southwest Festival (SXSW) held annually each March.

Things to Do in Austin

Austin is home to the oldest state office building in Texas - the Capital Visitors Center - which is rich with exhibits, photos and more that tell the story of the Lone Star State and its capital city, an honor Austin captured from Houston back in 1839. Several other museums offer a wealth of information for history buffs, while a number of world class galleries showcase the visual arts as well.
