Terrible Experience

I went in for a shellac manicure. Sign # 1 I should have left...As soon as the girl sat me down she tried to soak my hands in a dish with acetone that had been used on a previous client. I know because it had nail bits floating in it. Sign # 2...When she clipped my cuticles she flung the skin on the floor and said, ""Ugh."" Sign # 3...She yelled at me. After one coat had cure on my nails I reached for my smoothie to take a sip and she yelled at me like I was a child. Then, a while later I tried to take a closer look at the tips because it looked like she had missed the edges on several nails and she yelled again. I told her I was not touching them, but looking, and asked her, ""Am I not allowed to look at my nails?"" She muttered something under her breath and jerked my arm. Sign # 4...She got clear coat all over the skin underneath my nails (at least half of them.) I asked her to clean them up. She halfway attempted and when I asked her again she said, ""Your nails are too short"", as if it was my fault. I thought she was a nail technician and she should be able to do long nails and short nails without getting polish all over. I could go on to signs # 5 through a million, but you get the drift.

I buy a groupon for $99 which includes 6 sessions of laser hair removel. 1st & 2nd treatments were tolarable, as far pain. and I noticed I was hairless under my arms after about a week. I was happy, BUT! I go in for 3rd treatmeant and the zapping of the laser on my skin was unbearable. My underarms were red, blochy & very tender. They hurt for the rest of the day & under arm skin is darker because the laser was burning my skin. Then Henry suggest a free test area on my legs. Since the other visits he keep trying to convience me to do my legs & bikini area. I declined both visits. So I kindly agreed. BIG mistake!! So he starts working on my right ankle area & the pain of the zapping is so painful, I couldn't sit still. I told him it was hurting & to please stop. His response, just alittle more, so you could really see the difference. Finally it was over, I put some aloe vera gel & bolted out of there, limping. 10 min. later when I got to work. my ankle was puffy, red, skin was irritated & I had big welts. It was tender to the touch. That was 2 weeks ago, my skin is darkened & discolored in my ankle because he was frying my skin! Please do not go there!!

Good therapist

I came in for massage 2 years ago and was not impressed. Hurt my shoulder and neck and decided to try it again because I still get my nails done here. I am very impressed with the therapist they have now. Will come back and refer my co-workers and friends.

Great Massage

My fiance' gave me a one hour massage. I had a wonderful experience and wished it could have lasted longer. The therapist was working on my neck and knew exactly why it was knotted up. When she mentioned the cause of my pain, I nearly fell off the table as there was no way she could have known. Will definitely be back. Hope I can have a wedding spa party as everyone at Venus Day Spa is so nice.

terrific massage!

I use CitySearch alot and tried out Venus Day Spa with a friend. Good manicure and pleasant staff. Booked one hour massage. The room was nothing special but the therapist very good. I've had massage in top spa's in Austin but can't afford to go very often. This therapist was better than any at the expensive resorts. She took the time to listen and made certain I was comfortable instead of just going through the motions. I was almost asleep within a few minutes of the session. My girlfriend said the same thing about her massage. We will definitely come back. Very affordable for the quality of massage. .

Best Massage Ever!

I hurt my shoulder trimming tree branches and drive down Slaughter every day. I just happened to notice Venus Day Spa offered massages so I called and was lucky to book an hour with a new massage therapist. The room was very small and not set up like fancy spa's but it was clean and the therapist made me feel very comfortable from the moment she met me. Within a few short minutes, I had forgotten how small the room was and melted away as she began the session. Lovely music, and incredible hands worked from light pressure to the deepest work I've ever had (and I've had a lot of massages). The best part was that it didn't hurt. I knew she knew exactly what she was doing as she explained it to me with great knowledge afterword.

I will come back every time I need body work as long as she is available. My shoulder has never felt better, not to mention my neck and sciatic.

Rip Off

Without a doubt the crumbiest haircut I've ever gotten. This lady spent a grand total of about three minutes cutting my hair and then charged twenty bucks. No shampoo. No blowdry. She barely even combed my hair straight before she started cutting it. I was in my car driving down Slaughter before the shock wore off and the anger set in. I got home and saw that she didn't cut it even. I mean I understand that you get what you pay for, and twenty bucks is pretty cheap. But on the other hand, I could have spent another twenty and gone someplace where they know how to cut straight. Now I have to go get it fixed. Waist of time. Waist of money.

First time r everything appeared to be clean People very nice, was not rushed thru like some salons do sandwiching in people betweenand making you wai tto finish your nails or something.Reasonable rates but foot massage was a bit short. Would prefer to have a longer foot massage isnt that the whole thing of getting one anyway?
Will return and ask if I can pay more for a longer one.
I think frst poster was a bit over the edge..if a place gave you something why on earth would you return anyway?

I will say at first I was happy with this spa. I have had 2-3 pedicures there before all which were fine. Well as a gift I received a certificate for one of their spa treatment packages. Unfortunately I could not schedule them all at once like the ""retreat"" was supposed to be. So upon their suggestion broke it into 2 visits. The first visit I had the manicure and pedicure, and scheduled 2 weeks out for my massage and facial. This was probably one of the worst experiences I have ever had. They were busy that day and rushed thru the pedicure and manicure. Then a few days after my visit it became apparent they had also given me ATHLETES FOOT. So the 2 weeks pass, in the mean time my feet progressively get worse, but I kept my appointment for my facial and massage anyway figuring I will wait until my appointment to tell them about it in person since it will be easier to understand. So two weeks pass and I went in for my appointment and they begin with the facial. About 10 minutes later there is a knock at the door and I am informed that the person who was supposed to give me my massage didn't want to stay and longer that day and left. So my appointment that has been held for 2 weeks now has just been canceled while I was actually there to have it done. They finish the facial, and just say ""oh sorry"" about the massage person leaving and I will just need to reschedule. I then tell them this is getting ridicules, I came here, got my pedicure and in tern got athletes foot, and now they want me to reschedule an appointment I showed up for and made 2 weeks ago. I asked for a refund, but of course it isn't allowed under their policy. So I was sent upon my merry way, of course not bothering to make the appointment for the massage that I am sure will never happen now.

So do not ever go here- stay away, they are not sterile, do not keep appointments and obviously care nothing for customer satisfaction.
