Overall
Bad Place

I took my puppy there and when I arrived, I had to wait an hour to pick him up. I was yelled at by the staff and so was my dog. They kept telling me that my dog was "such a bad dog" when in actuality, he's a puppy who is scared to have his first grooming. Before they knew I had entered, I heard them yelling at other dogs and being really rough with them. They told me that a bath would cost $20 but then charged me $50 when I arrived. I truly regret taking my dog there. I feel guilty for taking my dog to Exmoor and would beg any person to reconsider taking their loved pet there.

Excellent Service - Fabulous!!

Exmoor is so unique and such a wonderful place to take your pets for grooming, day care and play time. I first discovered Exmoor about six years ago when I signed up my JRT, Jazzy, for obedience training. The sessions were informative, great fun, and the trainer, Tina, is truly at an expert at her profession. Jazzy and I both learned so much and she is a well behaved JRT because we attended. I later enrolled my second JRT, Java, into Boot Camp where she became a totally wonderful and obedient dog. Both of my girls love going to Exmoor for grooming, day care and play time. All of the wonderful staff there make you and your animals feel special. It is so obvious that they all enjoy their work and take great care of your animals. It is a safe and positive enironment. Jazzy and Java's ears always perk up when they hear its time to go to Exmoor td see their Aunt Tina and all of the special Aunt's who work at Exmoor. Thank you to all of the staff at Exmoor! Judith

Remarkable Place

Exmoor is a remarkable place to take your pets. They are very organized in their drop off / pick up service. Once your pet is inside you know they are very well taken care of. They have many amenities to choose from, you can just kennel your animal or pick from numerous services to offer your pet to make their stay more fun and enjoyable.

The staff are very knowledgeable and very attentive to your pets. The kennel areas have small to extra large kennels, depending on the size of your animal. The "cat house" is awesome. The kitties are very well taken care of. You can get them brush time, play time, cuddle time, what ever you want for your kitty while you are away. Puuuurrrfect for them.

The outside areas are great for play time and exercise time. They have an excellent training course that you can enroll you dog in. You actually have hands on and the trainer does an excellent job. Even your pet will enjoy this learning session.

Try it, what have you got to loose? I have 3 granddogs that just love the attention that they get when they get to go to Exmoor! They feel like they have been on their own vacation. It's great!

Just like camp!

I had never boarded my dog before and was calling around for information when the receptionist at Exmoor blew me away with all the stuff they offered! It was never ending: hotel, massage, training, nature walks, grooming even some jacuzzi bubble moisturizing thing for dogs that have bad skin. Anyway-the lady on the phone offered a tour without me even asking! So I drove right over (after the dog nap time was over-how cute) and got to see the whole place. The outside yards reminded me of a place that I use to camp at when I was a kid-really shaded and HUGE! The inside houses were a good size and clean. Every staff member I walked by said hi to me-made me feel really welcome. I could only imagine how my dog was going to feel with all that attention. Very Very Very impressed!

The Jack Russell Rambler

I thought they were very caring and always concerned about the welfare of the animal above all. They communicated the services and costs very accurately and were timely in meeting their commitments. A job well done and my Jack is happy!!!!!!!!

Family

My dog Tank's part of the family. We love Exmoor!! I know he misses us while we're gone, but he loves staying there. He's pretty much grown up with them. He took the puppy training class, beginners class and now he's a Canine Good Citizen thanks to Tina the trainer. They keep great records on how the pets eating and going to the bathroom. I like that they aren't put in runs with other family dogs and that you can get play time for them. It's also important that the pets get some time to relax while they are there. They are surrounded by so much fun and excitement it can get a little crazy with all the barking and running around. We've had to use other places when Exmoor is full and they have similiar hours, in fact I've found them to be perfect for my schedule. I found out the pet hotels should provide downtime for pet health and that's why they usually limit the hours during busy times, like the weekends. The less "traffic" visitors and interuptions to their routine is why they have strange hours. I you wake up an entire building with dogs in it they all wake up and start the party again and they all have to go potty. They also all need to be walked at Exmoor when they first wake up because they have runs outdoors to potty. If they don't have the staff there that does the walking they would have to go in the run. Thank's to all of Tanks Aunties and Uncle's,

Gary

Overall
sharp and shakey

I know a lady that got her ear nicked by her hair stylist...ouch!! Ears bleed like crazy...yuk! Those scissors are sharp, that's why my hair always looks fabulous. Thanks to the same hair dresser, she didn't mean it and I don't think she was mad at me for anything. Anyhoo, I have 4 dogs and decided I'd save some money and do my own grooms. I am NOT a groomer. It's very hard to do. My big fluffy mutt got a summer cut that obviously was done by a non pro. It took forever she kept moving around, my rear was getting sore and all of her hair was getting in my clothing..ugggh! Then I did my little bitty Crested's hair. Their ears are supposed to be trimmed with clippers like we use so shave heads with. I did one ear, beautiful! He didn't like the clippers and was moving all over the place so I was feeling quite confident. Unfortunately just as I was finishing the second ear I nicked it on the edge. He didn't seem to notice it, I didn't even really notice it happened at first, until I saw the blood. My poor poor baby boy. I've decided to retire my clippers and let the professionals do it. I'm pretty sure pets get nicked quite often on account that they move around so much and it can happen in an instant. They do have to use sharp instruments to get through most dogs hair or it would like like I did the groom. Groomers also have professional equipment to use like the tables and the collars that limits some of the craziness during the groom. I bet if you asked, all if not most professional groomers (hairstylists) have nicked a pet (person) at least once during a groom before; oh and toe nails too! They jerk just at the right time and the nail is cut too short it will bleed like crazy. I know that any groomer would feel bad if they hurt an animal. They wouldn't be in the industry if they didn't love animals. I love Exmoor, they're like family.

Good Service, Horrible Hours

Although Exmoor's service is great and the people are nice there, their pickup and drop off hours for boarding are horrible. They only allow for pick up on Saturday till 1:00 PM in the afternoon and on Sundays pick ups are only from 6-7 PM. If you need to pick up your animals early, the cost is VERY high... actually much higher than just boarding them for another day. In my mind, this is just an easy way for them to make a quick buck off their customers. I have been a long time Exmoor fan and client, and after I see how their money scheme is working, I will never use them again.

enjoyed

I was happy to hear that they had groomers available to do a "while you wait" for my senior pet. He also, has had bad experiences at other places so it was good to know he was near and safe-I could hear the groomer singing in italian to him!!! I think he fell in love while he was in there! Hair looked great and he wasnt freaked out when I got him back like in the past...... Perfect place for the special needs pets-even got a brochure on massage for him if he wanted to come back. that was crazy but kinda neat too!

Just like camp!

I went to pick up my dog after boarding at Exmoor and she was ready to turn around and go back! I think she enjoyed all the attention. The staff is very hands on and are in the ac buildings with them throughout the morning and night. Her outside area was so beautiful...very natural setting...just like going to camp. I was ready to set up my own tent when I went on the tour!! She went on more walks than I could ever take her-signed her up for nature walks on top of her already, I think 4-6 walks she already got. First place I've really felt safe and secure about leaving her-staff was very re-assuring. ONe of the girls even sent me a text picture of my pup! no video cams though. Some of the hours could be longer but I worked around it. your dog will love it!

safe and secure!
