Being a person who also work with sales, I should of never purchased a vehicle from Capitol Chevrolet . I bought a vehicle from a woman ( I will not use names) because I am sure they would be quick to sue like I am thinking of doing myself. I only bought from her because I thought she seemed honest and fair. I did research with car fax etc. and my 2011 Hyundai Sonata had no accidents and was in good condition. I have to work and didn't have time to get the car looked at sooner and we were waiting for a call from the woman anyways from the dealership to get the cigarette burn repaired and thought I would bring it up than. The car is not as is, the car still has a warranty and when we were in the process of the buy of the vehicle I did bring to her attention and so did my boyfriend that their was a cigarette burn which is going to get fixed per her manager. That is not why I am upset, I am upset because I have only had the car for two months and the clear coat is peeling and it's noticeable. Since I am at work, my boyfriend took the vehicle into the dealership so the woman who sold us the vehicle could look at the noticeable peeling paint job, but the main reason my boyfriend was at the dealership was because he was told by her to be there to get the cigarette burn repaired. When looking at the paint she quickly answered, "oh that is a manufacturer default and referred to the Hyundai dealership. My boyfriend went to the Hyundai dealership who in turn states, " that is not a default the car was in a accident and repaired wrong which cancels the warranty. My boyfriend who is also on the car note by the way went back to speak with the woman at the Chevy dealership and was told they will not repair the paint job due to it being two months since we bought the vehicle and they do not have to repair anything and was told it is my word against theirs . I just want everyone to know that I feel cheated and will never ever recommend, even though they offered me money to refer people to the them. Don't buy a car from capitol Chevrolet, their are not fair!

Today I purchased a vehicle from Kevin at Capital Chevrolet and it was the best car buying experience I have ever had. Kevin was knowledgeable about the cars he had on the lot and their costs. He was relaxed and comfortable to talk with. No pushing, no hard sell. He showed us what he had, we talked about the cars performance and features. We went for a couple of test drives and he let me drive the car where I wanted so I could really check it out for my kind of driving and parking. Because of how relaxed Kevin was I was also relaxed and it made for a nice experience like I was just there talking to a friend. He worked with us on the price and then the finance guys did their magic and got us a better finance deal than we had pre-qualified for from the credit union. At the end we even got a new TV out of the deal totally unexpected! I think Hubby was more excited about the new TV than my new car. I was happy, my husband was happy and we are already planning for our next purchase of a new truck for my husband at Capital Chevrolet.
First time reviewer but feel compelled to so others are not taken advantage of... took '05 Tahoe for oil leak. Received $1500 repair quote - majority of work was due to a leak in the rear main plate and would require the removal of the transmission which translates to several labor hours. After further research realized that the quote was $300-500 higher then other shops would charged so declined the service. EXTREMELY happy that we did ... because in the end the repair cost $300. We found that the 'rear main plate' was 'bone dry'. Left a voice message for service manager ... doubt I will get a return call. Wished I read reviews before taking car in - but at least we can say one thing about the service department - it is consistent - consistently awful.

Last Thursday I called to set up an appointment for Monday because my truck was making a wretched noise. It had this vibration for the last few months but none of the 4 mechanics I took it too could diagnose the problem. Friday, as I sat in the drive thru at McDonalds, the noise was so bad they asked me to turn my truck off so they could hear me! I was so humiliated, I called and told them my truck was being dropped off right away. I was stunned when my service advisor, Bill Arrellano, bent under my truck and stopped the noise, diagnosing it within SECONDS! What ASE certified mechanics hadn't identified for months, was figured out immediately by Bill. He actually called right away and let me know what was going on and when to pick up my truck. I've always gotten terrific service from them but hesitate to have stuff done when I think dealers are expensive, but they do it right. Also when I checked on pricing for my transmission fluid and filter change it was $40 cheaper than the independent repair shops I called! And Capitol was checking other things for FREE that I would have had to pay Meineke to check! What a deal! I'm recommending them to all of my friends.
