Overall

Service Dept. is the worst. I dropped my car off to get a recall issue taken care of. As i drove off i noticed my DS mode function no longer worked. I use it all the time to speed up and get me out of sticky situations. upon driving off the parking lot i noticed it failed. i tried again a few lights later and nothing. Immediately called back service agent and let him know i did not have a problem prior to drop off and it is a function i utilize all the time. i had no hint of preexisting issue either. asked me to bring back and i did so. They claimed no responsibility and said its a coincidence and wanted to charge me 1000+ to repair. Spoke with service manager, he claimed the recall and current issue were unrelated. They did an electrical fix, believe that pretty much means everything is related,as they could have shorted any board in stick shift. Service manager is an idiot, implied bmw manufacture standards are below quality i bought into. vehicle service is sloppy based on this and other repair done there. penske contract should be rescinded as service quality do not meet bmw standards. Adviser was nice but nice doesn't correct my injustice.

Overall
Top notch everything-

I am from Tyler passing through on a road trip and needed an oil change before I head to New Orleans. I had no idea how nice this place would be. Best service lounge I've ever been to, everyone from the service advisor Travis to the porter to the coffee barista here was top notch. Very helpful and not pushy, but very knowledgable. Also washed the car for free-
I'll be back

I Miss You!!!!

I purchased a car from BMW of Austin in August '05 and owed it until March '09 when I decided I wanted a Hummer. The customer service was always great at BMW but I never knew how good I really had it until I brought my Hummer to the GM dealership. I have never been treated so rude and ignored by their staff and the overall lack of customer service blew my mind! I am currently trying to convince my husband to let me trade this thing in so I can go back to BMW of Austin. Jodi Kirkland was so amazing - and words can't describe how I miss him so!!

Taken advantage of

My wife bought a BMW with $3500 worth of warranty coverage. She did this when I was away on business. Come to find out the warranty hardly covers anything. I could understand things that are ware and tear not being covered, however leaks into the interior of the car, gaskest for the oil filter, trim falling off on the exterior. The car will just shut off driving down the road, they still have not figured it out. My wife was sold a warranty by a devious sales person. They tell the customer about how much things will cost to be fixed if it breaks to make the warranty sound good. The things they don't tell you is they don't cover the parts that fail often. Example of a common problem: window motors are covered, window regulators are not. The motors rearly ever fail however the regulator WILL go out. They cost $250 to $300 per window.

I have several very close friends who are BMW mechanics. They say they are very nice cars to drive, but you need to understand they require a lot of attention and money to maintain. They also tell me they are not the same quality they used to be.

Buy Japanese if you want a reliable good car. Our other car is an Acura 3.2 and is almost 10 years old with 120k on it and I have had vertually nothing go wrong with it. There was a maintance recall on the transmission once. They fixed the issue and extended the warranty to 7yrs 110k. They stand by their reputation as a quailty car. BMW does not.
