The people here went above and beyond to help me get the car I wanted. I will begin with the disclaimer that I really hate car dealerships. I have been misled, misinformed, and generally treated poorly on almost every lot that I have entered. The list of offenses is long and diverse. So when I called Renee, I did it with trepidation. He greeted me with a very friendly and open demeanor, asked me a few questions, and immediately got me out for a test drive of the exact car that I came to see. He was knowledgeable.. he knew the car inside & out, and he educated me on the car's features while we were driving. If there was a question he couldn't answer. He followed up with me promptly. There was absolutely NO B.S. in this conversation. He was honest about the car and its competitors, which was very refreshing. What I love about Renee is that he's an information provider. He believes in his products, and it shows. He gave me everything I needed to make an informed decision, never pressured me, didn't ask what it would take to get me into the car today, didn't go get the sales manager to help make the sale. He was everything I had ever hoped a car salesman would be and more. I left the lot hoping and praying that my husband would also love the car when he drove it, because.. well.. I really wanted to buy a car from Renee. I wanted to reward him for being exactly the kind of person I want to do business with. Ultimately, my husband was just too darn big for the car, so it wasn't an ideal match for our family. I was very disappointed. Back to the wolves we go! While I haven't completed a transaction with him, I can tell that Renee would be a pleasure to negotiate with. He's fair, up front, and honest. And he's the kind of guy that would be there for you (personally) if you ever had any issues with your car, or questions about it after the sale.
For me, purchasing a car is a once-a-decade deal and it's pretty simple: I buy a car, take care of it, drive it until the thing falls apart and then start anew. Sometimes the car purchasing process ranks up there with visiting the dentist, in that you have to go and do it eventually, but cringe through the process. To my surprise, I did not cringe at all through the process of buying my new vehicle with Renee. He was more than just my sales rep, and as someone who also works in sales, I appreciated Renee’s relentlessness and tenacity to meet my needs. Along with his charm and humor, it was Renee’s doing-whatever-it-takes follow-through that got him the deal. Renee pulled every favor to find me my A3, even when supplies were kaput (that's German for "nada", NOTHING). So just when I thought I was going to have to keep searching Austin or even further, Renee quarterbacked this to reality, for he knew I was hell-bent on getting an A3. I bought two vehicles, and my only regret is that I bought one of them before finding Texas Auto Ranch. I called and left a message Monday morning and received a call back from the owner, John Phillips. I pass by his lot every day coming and going and noticed that he always seemed to have lots of nice looking stock on hand. I was in the market for a late model Infiniti and noticed that he had several on hand. When John called me back, I delivered my typical "This ain't my first rodeo speech," so as to let him know that I was not going to be a push over. John was very humble and friendly, it was immediately apparent to me that working with him was going to be fun and easy. After speaking on the phone a few times, curiosity finally got the better of me and I stopped by after work. John is a man's man who loves to talk about fishing and his kids, and we got along famously. He presented me with several options, and earned my trust by revealing several aspects of the deal that are normally kept from customers. It was an educational experience, even for someone like me whose bought several cars and has friends who have their dealers license. The car had some minor imperfections, but John made some calls and got me taken care of. As it turns out, this is not his first rodeo either and he is incredibly well connected, and apparently incredibly influential with his business contacts as he was able to get me some nice freebies and discounts. Having purchased 10 cars since moving to Austin, most of them at Austin Infiniti, I had a good basis for comparison for rating a car buying experience. John and Texas Auto Ranch are far and away the best I've ever encountered, and because of integrity, his personality, and his willingness to go above and beyond, he's earned a customer for life.
