I fell in love with my apartment from the moment I toured it. The rent was affordable for a very nice area. There were many fees and deposits involved which is pretty standard for private ownership. There was some miscommunication upon move in but the property manager worked it out with me and I was able to move in without a problem. They've been prompt on fixing things and payments were always easy to make. They only issue that I had with them up until this point is that I could hardly ever get any correspondence over the phone as they wouldn't answer or return calls. They've been easy to work with up until recently. I lost my job recently so I had to split my payments into two accounts. That was all the money that I had left. My first payment went through but their payment system wouldn't accept the second payment because a payment was already pending. I quickly submitted to the portal what was happening as this was the last day to pay rent on time. I get a response the next morning saying that there was nothing that could be done and to bring in the payment. I also see an additional $100 charge. I called who I was initially told was my property manager to get some answers as to why nothing could be done. It was the weekend so I assumed that she was gone for the holiday (Labor Day) because I hadn't heard back from her. I dropped off what I originally owed into the drop box as I was waiting for a response. The weekend passed and I see a $5 postage fee. I called as soon as they opened and I'm greeted by a lady who is unbeknownst to me my new property manager. I explain to her that if I had known that you couldn't make two payments I wouldn't have attempted to do so in the first place and put myself in this position. She says she understood but her hands were tied. There was nothing that she could do. She also informs me that there was a message sent into the portal responding to the phone call that I'd placed the previous Friday. The problem with that is is that they'd already locked me out of the portal for nonpayment. She says that she would remove the additional late fees and to just bring in the original $100 fee. I go to do that and once again I get an email instead of a phone call saying that she couldn't remove the fees. I also see a $116 charge for an eviction filing that had been done that morning after I got off of the phone with her. The bottom line here is that customer service/satisfaction doesn't seem to be of any importance to this company. If someone is calling you it isn't the best option to respond to them in an email as they aren't expecting it. As anyone can see from their responses to their negative reviews they are quite combative and defensive. Which I'm sure is an attempt to save face but there are ways to do that without calling out those who've paid they're bills and putting their personal business out into the Internet. I've also seen that a previous resident had this exact same issue a year ago. With that having happened one would think that the company would update their portal to let it be known the dos and don'ts of payment. Or at least not accept a payment that isn't for the full amount. I've never given this company any problems but they refuse to help me in this tough situation because as I was told "they're hands are tied" ATX Management seems to take the Rihanna approach of "BBHMM". The only reason there are 3 stars is because I can't do 2.5

If I had been allowed to do so, I would have moved into Kerbey Lane Cafe, like a stowaway on an 18th-century ocean voyage, hiding under tables and venturing forth whenever safe to steal whatever I could. As this did not seem a realistic option, what with my job expecting my return on Monday, I did the next best thing...I came to Kerbey Lane for BOTH days of my two-day Austin trip. Why bother going somewhere else when you have already discovered a place that sells $2 mimosas, migas (eggs with many Mexican-y things over tortilla chips), and gluten-free pumpkin French toast? If you answered, "There is absolutely no reason to go anywhere else," then you are absolutely correct. To begin, the mimosas. These were mimosas in only the loosest sense of the word, as they were really full glasses of champagne with a drop of orange food coloring poured on top. I feel I got my $2 worth. Moving onward, the migas. I had never experienced or even heard of migas before Kerbey Lane, but I am confused as to why more places have not yet discovered the brilliance of mixing all the delicious Mexican things with eggs and tortilla chips. Highly recommended. Next, the gluten-free pumpkin French toast. Yum? I can't really say anything else. Worth ordering. A lot. As I went back the next day, I can also speak to the pork tacos, which were as delicious as everything else. The prices were fantastic, the servers were friendly, and if you can somehow get out of doing your job or area already career-less, I highly recommend considering this as your new place of residence.
A couple of matters need to be made clear: 1) Be careful to bank on a review by a person who provides no specifics about their complaint (some people are generally unhappy people) 2) Question the opinion of any person whose name is laundromat or anonymous890 or renter1257 or ANY OTHER NAME THAT IS not their real name -- if the statements were true, they would sign their real name without fear of slander charges. 3) @ smartcookie88 (and all others falsely accusing fake reviews) since you are such a rocket scientist, you should know that we serve a college community and the majority of our properties "turn" all at once so it would make since that review would be written within days of each other. For example, 40 tenants are moving out on 7/31/2013 and 40 new tenants are moving in within 7 days of that date -- hummmmmmmmmmmmmm who knows, maybe we will get (let's see 40 + 40 = 80) eighty reviews during that week!!!! Feel smart now? 4) Campus & Central Properties strives to be the best property management company in Austin and, from the 100% occupancy statistics (pre-leased a year in advance) I'd say someone must be pretty satisfied with us. If you are going to post a negative review, be brave enough to specify your complaint, provide the address of the property you rented, and state your REAL name. Anything less is hard to take serious.
