I am a disabled veteran and receive my medications through the U.S. mail. In 2009 my medications were being stolen from my home mailbox so the Aurora Main Post Office on Alameda Avenue told me to buy a lockable mailbox and ask the VA to request signature upon delivery which I did. No problem. I got my meds on time from several mail carriers at my door for six years. When I was away from home which was most of the time the medication would not fit in the mail slot of my locking mailbox so I would sign the card with the instruction to leave the meds in a designated spot. In January 2015 I got a new very inexperienced mailman. The first shipment of meds came and he refused to leave them in my designated spot. I went to his supervisor and she defended him. She told me I had to go to the post office to pick up my packages from now on. Every time I would try to explain to her why I had to sign for the packages (at my request to the VA) she would interrupt me very rudely and then hang up on me. This happened several times. I also spoke to the post office manager who did the same exact thing to me. I tried explaining that I work/commute 11 hours a day, six days a week and they are closed when I am home. Their solution to me was to get a doctor's note. My doctor has nothing to do with my 11 hour work schedule. I cannot get my medications now unless I take a day off from work.
This is how this post office treats the veterans of the military. They are rude and don't give damn about their customers. Carolyn is the rudest customer relations individual I have ever met. I have told them that if I have a medical emergency because I don't have my meds I am prepared to sue. This post office does not deserve even a one star rating!!
