The Augusta Human Relations Commission has been a longtime voice of reason during sensitive times when the new south allows the old south to creep back into the playing field. The commission has had an excellent director in Mr. Frank Thomas, a former news reporter with the best interests of the community at heart. I also admire their most recent past chairman Mr. Terence Dicks, who doesn't throw out the race card unless its needed. Mr. Dicks always took the respectful approach to solving a problem but did not allow himself to be bullied or lied to by persons trying to pull the wool over his eyes. Hats off to Mr. Thomas and Mr Dicks for keeping the peace and looking out for the rights of all people.
