Glaucoma
If you have glaucoma, a laser trabeculoplasty can be performed to increase drainage and lower the pressure within the eye. This treatment can be used either with or without medication. Laser trabeculoplasty is a virtually pain free, in-office procedure. While it does not cure glaucoma, this treatment often works as well as certain medications, without potential medication-related side effects.

Susan Ziegler Marks is the administrator of the Augusta Eye Surgery Center. Originally from Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Susan is a certified ophthalmic assistant and a certified ophthalmic surgical assistant. As administrator, Susan is responsible for planning and directing the activities of the surgical center. Susan was a physical therapist for 20 years before changing careers and was the administrator of a physical therapy practice in Ohio. She has a degree in Chemistry from Emory University and a master’s degree in Physical Therapy from Duke University.
