I paid someone to transport some furniture while I was moving from Evans to Grovetown. A few days later, I found that my kitchen table had not made it to the new home. After some checking, it was discovered that the person I paid to transport my furniture was a former employee of Mema's. I contacted Mema's and was informed that my kitchen table had been sold to them by the person I paid to move my furniture. However, if I wanted my table back I would have to pay $50 and an additional $20 because they had already painted and "shabbied" my table. $70 for my own table that I had paid their former employer to move to my new home. Instead I made a police report, but Mema's retained my table. I wonder how much of their furniture is stolen like mine is, because they showed very little concern over purchasing stolen goods. I wont purchase anything from there, and I will advise everyone I know to do the same. I hate to think that I would be purchasing items that were stolen from other unfortunate people.
