Golden Girls Kennel

I have never seen or heard of a more amazing kennel. Our dog, who is usually so unhappy away from home, absolutely loves it here and mopes when we make him leave. This is more of a puppy vacation place than a kennel. And the owners are the most amazing people. We have also kenneled our cat for an extended vacation and were so happy with that experience too. We just found out we're getting transferred out of the area and I think the thing I'm most sad about is our dog losing his home away from home. Cannot recommend this place enough!

We absolutely LOVE this place !! We joke that our yellow lab is going to his resort, while we go away. He is well cared for, safe and exercised several times per day. I personally am impressed that they do not allow "aggressive" breeds here. Not all dogs in those considered aggressive are, but I would rather be safe than sorry. We had taken our dog to another kennel before finding Kathy & Eric - our dog has never been the same - he was terrorized by other more aggressive dogs. While our dog is very large, he is a big baby and does not have an aggressive bone in his body. Whenever we ask our dog if he wants to go see Kathy & Eric, his tail starts going crazy, and he gets totally excited - gives us peace of mind to enjoy our time away :)

I cannot add much to what all of the reviews below have already mentioned except that I checked out several kennels as this was the first time we had to leave our 10 year old beagle in a kennel for a few days. This was the nicest place of all and the most reasonably priced - even with the extra charges for additional activities. Eric and Kathy are definitely dog lovers and know what is important to insure the safety and health of all of the animals in their care - including vaccinations and tests. You know that when you leave your animal there, they will come home as healthy as they were when they came. What I found a little surprising is how they took the animal's needs into consideration, like putting the cat cages up high by a window and making sure the dog runs had shade or some place the animal could get out of the hot sun even if they had to build it. I would just add that Eric and Kathy are really nice people and run this business with their love of animals very apparent. I was a little nervous about leaving our dog with someone else but I am not now and would definitely rest easy if/when we need to leave him again. I have always been an animal lover and I know them when I meet them.

I had never left my dog before and I couldn't have been happier. The Golden Girls kennel is one of the nicest facilities I have ever seen for dogs. Eric and Kathy are wonderful! The kennel is immaculate and there are so many activities that your dog can do while you are away for a very reasonable rate. I will never leave Katie anywhere else. I was very relaxed leaving her and even felt better when I got home and saw how well she had been taken care of. I would recommend this kennel wholeheartedly...

Didn't give my puppy a chance...I inquired about this place and was told no. Mind you, I have a 7 month old rottie which is being trained by professionals. She told us, "I don't take that breed of dog as they are too aggressive". Ok, get your facts straight sweetheart. She is a very smart, well behaved puppy. Stop judging until you meet them. (oh and you don't even deserve that one star, wouldn't let me sign out unless I marked one).

We love this place. It's like a vacation getaway for your dog. I'ts going to cost a bit extra for the different activies she offers but my pet is worth every extra penny and it doesn't work out to that much more anyways. This is always my first choice to Kennel Oscar our black Lab.

The Golden Girls Kennel is the best around! They come as close to a vacation pet resort as the ones down south! Kath (the owner) has one of the funniest brochures I've ever seen...each page is a detailed description of an activity that can be purchased for an extra charge. Our dogs get the 'vacation package' which includes romps in a pond, walks in the forest and daily exercises in what used to be a horse paddock. It is now fenced in and my dogs love it! I love the fact that the dogs are taken out of their kennel 3-4 times per day and walked around the building to pee/poop. This is done as part of regular kenneling; without all the extras added on. I know that my dog get well cared for. I have nothing but praise for Golden Girls Kennel.

We have all great things to say about the Golden Girls Kennel. We were really nervous about leaving our 3-1/2 month old labrador for a family vacation but Kathy assured us that our little girl would be well taken care of and she definitely was. She was in a safe, clean, loving environment the whole time we were away. We would definitely recommend this kennel to our friends. It was like our dog was on vacation too. She was able to spend time going for walks, playing in the pond, and even activity time. We didn't need to worry about our newest member of the family. Thanks Kathy for all of your great work and dedication to animals.

My husband and I left our 2 Boxers here a couple of weeks ago for three days, and we WOULD NOT HESITATE to use this kennel again and HIGHLY recommend it! The kennels are absolutely immaculate, there's no odor, the cages are generously sized, there is a list of activities that you can opt for your pet to do (extra charge), and the caring and compassion Kathy & Eric (the owners) will show your furry family members is second to NONE! We'll definitely be back!
