After seeing the above review we would like to apologize. Most of us on staff were snowed in and could not reach the school to call the students. We do not let the contact information of the students leave the school for privacy protection. Normally someone with a key can make it in to contact the students but this was a nasty storm. We regret the trouble we caused to our loyal members. Most people, when in doubt, called in before driving all the way to the school but a few didn’t. As mentioned, we do like to stay in touch with notices of events and closures when possible. I would like to point out that if a parent has stayed with us 4 years as a loyal family there must be something we are doing right. We do build kids confidence, self discipline, focus, listening skills and help them develop the inner strength to say no to negative peer pressure. As kids become teens they are faced with terrible issues like drugs, teen suicide, early pregnancy and depression. We have been helping families since Nov. 5th 1977. I hope people can look past one error we made due to weather and keep in mind the bigger issue of child development that we are experts in. At Joslin’s East West Karate we understand that the biggest room in the world is the room for improvement. 7th Degree Master Instructor Ron Joslin

What you get at Joslin's East/West Karate you cannot find anywhere else. Invaluable self defense skills, life/personal development skills, focus and mental clarity, stress relief, physical fitness, confidence, and friendships are just a few of the benefits I'm experiencing at Joslin's East/West Karate. My kids both enjoy classes at Joslin's as well. They are learning respect, self discipline, honesty and focus as well as how to defend themselves. I have lots of friends who put their kids in dance or in sports like soccer, but none of those even compare to what you get from this program. Most of these friends say that they want their child to learn a "team" sport, kids in karate develop their own personal skills as well as cheer on their classmates and learn to train with each other, but unlike so called "team" sports, in karate no one sits out and everyone participates and wants to encourage one another to achieve their next goal. In my opinion there is no better investment in your child's development than the karate program at Joslin's!
My youngest daughter won a drawing from Joslin's East West Karate at the age of 7 after filling out a form at a fair. We had never looked into the Martial Arts and thought it would be fun for a short time. After observing the classes my eldest daughter joined after a week and I was drawn in after another week. It has been over 7 years since we started and we have never looked back. The amount of confidence, stability and friendships we have gained is priceless. My husband even joined after my youngest daughter and I earned our Black Belts and is currently a purple belt. It is a true and tested system backed by Master Ron and Master Dave Joslin, seventh degree Black Belts in Isshinryu Karate, and exceptional Martial Artists. If you are looking for the real deal in the Martial Arts this is the school! Sincerely Kathy Shawl
