I have been coming to this restaurant for around 3 years. I feel like this place is my home away from home. The food is really cheap for a sit down establishment with nothing on the regular menu over $10.99 and that is a shrimp basket. The portions are very good as well. When you are a regular customer you will occasionally receive free meal coupons either through the mail or in person. My advice for those who said they had bad service would to be to come during the week when the restaurant is less busy since the more crowded it is the longer food takes. Also any restaurant has high employee turnover so be sure to get a server like Jamar or Ouzan who has been there for a long time and that would improve your service as well. If you go on say a Wednesday though it is really intimate. They have Wii in the back room and regularly have concerts either through 99X or special events. On Memorial Day weekend there was a BBQ and blues event that was especially great. In the summer the patio is great especially if there is a breeze and in the winter they have a fireplace. One of the things I love most about it is when they have weddings and you can basically watch the wedding from where you are sitting if you are placed right. Depending on who is getting married the music is also usually really good on those nights. The restaurant is very inclusive and diverse. You can take your kids here and it is also very welcoming to GLBT people and is generally fairly ethnically diverse as well. If you are driving there is free parking and if you take MARTA it's very close to the Midtown station just walk to the end of the park right past Grady High School. The atmosphere is very casual and welcoming I never feel like I'm not dressed well enough to go there and never feel I'm looked down on as someone who is fairly working class myself.
I ORDERED A PIZZA FROM THERE FOR THE FIST TIME AND IT WILL BE THE LAST. I HAVE BEEN ORDERING PIZZA'S FOR MANY YEARS AND HAVE NEVER HAD ANYONE ASK FOR THE THREE DIGITS ON THE BACK OF MY CARD. I ASKED HER WHY AND SHE SAID WE CAN'T PROCESS THE ORDER WITHOUT THAT INFORMATION. THAT WAS NO ANSWER. I TOLD HER THAT MY QUESTION WAS THE SAME. SHE SAID SHE HAD ANSWERED IT. NO SHE HAD NOT. I CALLED A PJ IN ATLANTA AND SPOKE TO A VERY NICE POLITE GENTLEMAN THAT APOLOGIZED FOR HER BEHAVIOR AND WENT ON TO EXPLAIN THAT THEY HAVE A NEW SYSTEM NOW AND IT REQUIRES THEM TO ENTER THAT INFORMATION. I DON'T THINK SHE KNEW THE ANSWER. I CALLED BACK AND ASKED WHO THE MANAGER WAS AND WOULDN'T YOU THIS THING WAS THE MANAGER. SHE'S SO FULL OF HERSELF. I THINK THE POSITION OF MANAGER HAS GIVEN HER THE BIG HEAD. IT'S JUST TOO BAD THAT HEAD DOESN'T HAVE THE SENSE GOD GAVE A HEAD OF LETTUCE. THE WITCH IS UNINFORMED AND RUDE. NOW ON A MORE POSITIVE NOTE, THE PIZZA YOUNG MAN THAT DELIVERED IT WAS POLITE, ARTICULATE, CLEAN AND NEAT, VERY PROFESSIONAL AND ABOUT HIS BUSINESS. THE PIZZA WAS THE BOMB. HOT AND PERFECT, THE COKE WAS SO COLD I DIDN'T NEED TO PUT IT ON ICE. 100% PERFECT DELIVERY SERVICE THAT EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS. 100% PERFECT PIZZA THAT EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS AND FOR THESE 2 REASONS, I'M A PAPA JOHN'S PIZZA. MANAGEMENT IS DUMBER THAN A BOX OF SAND
The whole evening was great. The restaruant was easy to find and had parking in the back. Our group was seated upstairs and had excellent staff waiting on us. Our food arrived quickly and exceeded my expectation. There was a constant aroma of a fireplace in the room. I am writing this review for one reason. I was driving that night and did not have any of their beers. (Although everyone else did in our group.) I ordered a Root Beer with no ice. It arrived in a frosted mug and I was surprised. I was told that they brew their own in house and that it was rather good! Good doesn't come close to describing the taste. It was by far the best I had ever tasted. I am at a loss of words when it comes to describing it. Everyone at my table ended up ordering at least one. Some even ordered Root Beer floats for desert! I wish I had the words to describe it to you. If this Root Beer was a ten on a scale from one to ten... The next best Root Beer I have ever had only rates a five. It is remarkable. I will drive from Ohio to Atlanta to get more, you can be sure. Thanks!
