I damaged a pair of heels earlier in the day and was calling around looking for a shoe repair place that could provide a quick repair. As it was exactly 5pm on a Saturday afternoon, I was not having much luck. The places that were open would only accept the shoes but wouldn't have them ready any earlier than Monday. When I called Peachtree Battle Shoe Repair, I was told that the business was closed already but that he would wait for me if I could get there in 15 minutes. When I arrived, the owner promptly began working on my shoes. They were fixed in about 7 minutes. He didn't charge me a dime as it was a relatively minor repair. I spent $5 on a pair on inexpensive slippers and left a $2 tip. These days it is a challenge to find good customer service but Peachtree Battle Shoe Repair is the best. They have a customer for life in me and I would gladly refer everyone I know to this business.
The place is a little tough to find (as is everything in midtown), but it was definitely worth the trip. I brought in a pair of dress shoes and boots to be resoled, and they did a wonderful job. When I got them back, they had been resoled, cleaned, and shined, and I paid only for the soles! There was a pretty deep scratch on my dress shoes, and even that had been repaired. Also, the shoes were repaired while I waited in the shop for less than half an hour, and I had expected to wait a week and come back. This was my first shoe repair experience, and the little lady that owns the place (and fixes the shoes and clothes) made it a great one. I will definitely be going back.
Yes this is a small and old shop....however the owner is SKILLED in his job. I took several pairs of shoes and a old purse which belongs to my daughter grandmother and asked him to repair the zipper and not replace...he did just that...and fixed several pairs of shoes and also a zipper in a pair of jeans...while we were chatting he repaired one pair of shoes and did not charge.....in such a time as this I can only say 'THANK YOU LORD!"....if you are unable to find someone in the area where you live this is the place...I am putting my SEAL of approval....
