At Dunwoody Pediatrics, we are fortunate to have some of the most experienced and caring physicians and staff in the metro Atlanta area.
Primary Care
Referrals For all non-emergency referrals, please contact our office at least one week in advance. For all emergency referrals, please contact our office the following business day. In the event your child may need to see a specialist or may require emergency care, your HMO or POS insurance company requires that you be referred by your primary care physician. If you do not receive authorization from us prior to your visit with a specialist or within the next business day of your emergency care, your insurance company may not pay for the treatment. Our office will not provide authorization for visits retroactively.
Ear Infections
Colds, upper respiratory infections, and URIs are common terms we use to describe viral illnesses that cause nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, fever, and cough. The fever usually lasts for 2-3 days, and the cough with congestion and runny nose may last for 5-10 days. The typical preschool-age child may experience 6-10 colds per year. Most colds resolve on their own with rest and fluids, but some may lead to ear infection, sinus infection, asthma attack, or other complications. If you are concerned about the possibility of one of these complications, please have your child seen in our office for an evaluation.
Emergency Care
For life-threatening emergencies, call 911. If you need advice for the care of your child or if you believe your child needs urgent care after office hours, please call 770-394-2358 or 770-664-9299. Our answering service will take a message and an advice line nurse will promptly return your call. The nurse will notify the on-call physician of any emergencies.

We ask that all new patients arrive at least fifteen minutes in advance to fill out all new patient paperwork. We ask that you please send all relevant paperwork from your child's previous pediatrician, including immunization records and laboratory test results, to our office prior to scheduling your first appointment. We cannot schedule an appointment for a new patient until we have previous records.
