Piola is a an excellent Italian/pizza restaurant in Midtown. I usually get the gnocchi, but I also have enjoyed the pizza. The pizza is the classic Italian thin crust. I crave the cocktail strawberry caiprioska. It's my favorite drink of the moment. The chunks of strawberries and the sweetness make it such a refreshing delicious drink. Ladies Nights on Wednesday night are great affordable midweek option that I enjoy with my girl friends.Provided by Citysearch

i'm surprised to see all the positive reviews for this restaurant considering my experience there was sub par at best. our server forgot our orders and had to come back and ask for them again. we got our food relatively quickly, but then she disappeared off the face of the earth for a solid 30 minutes or more. another awkward server tried to help out by bringing us the bread we never got. it was so old and dried up that neither of us would dare attempt to eat it. our pasta dishes ...view morewere entirely bland. i guess we should have gotten pizza?
on a somewhat positive note, i had a delicious strawberry caipiroska, but it was hard to drink due to the massive strawberry chunks... it could have been executed better.view less
Ladies!! Must come for ladies nights on Wednesday...complimentary sangria or house wine with any entree. This pizza place has a really creative atmosphere, good thin crust pizzas, and great salads. It is a nice place that does not damage your wallet to go out with friends or before an event. Several servers and bartenders were very informative on food entrees and quick with service. It is nice to come with a group to have appetizers and drinks, then split a few pizzas. I was really hopeful that this would be good. Gave it a good shot. Went three times. Finally gave up. Gnocci, terrible, pizza, OK, calzone, tasteless and the salads...well that's where we have a problem. They were serving rotten greens...you know, the kind that's kind of slimy and clearly should be thrown out. It happened on two different occasions. This last time we complained to the waitress. She told the manager and came back and said that they were getting a new shipment on...view more Saturday. Apparently that wasn't enough for the manager to go back and check out what was going on in the kitchen because the next dish had the same rotten greens on it. The manager did come over to talk to us but he didn't really hear what we had to say and seemed to be more interested in letting us know that we should come back at another time when they have fresh greens. How ridiculous. I really wanted this place to do well since it's close-by but I'm not going back. THEY SERVE ROTTEN FOOD!!!view lessProvided by Citysearch
Ive been to Piola many times and have always found their food to be great. The other reviews must have gone on a bad night. First of all, the manager is adorable and very accommodating. They have a wide variety of delicious pizza and pasta, great happy hour appetizer specials, great drink specials, fabulous and great looking bartenders and great servers. Worst pizza ever !!!!! The picture from the website had me really excited , not. The pizza was COLD and had no flavor . They put two leaves on top that was supposed to be basil . Tasted like someone put it in the microwave. Kroger brand 98 cent pizza would've tasted better. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY !!!!!!! Guess you need to be drunk to enjoy it.
