HORRIBLE! RACIST PEOPLE! STAY AWAY!
Disrespectful staff! Such a HORRIBLE experience with Dr. Jay Levin. Went in for a 3:30pm appointment which I confirmed 3 times! Got there at 3:20pm they said I was late and the Doctor would not see me. I explained that it was a 3:30pm appointment the girls started YELLING at ME and I asked them to be Respectful they gave me attitude so I said I asked to the talk to the Doctor to see if you would see me today. The said GET OUT or WE WILL CALL SECURITY! I asked why and they YELLED GET YOUR BROWN ASS out of here or we will have you thrown out and arrested. Such RACISTS! I think it because the Doctor is Jewish and does not want to treat certain groups of people!

This review came after this patient was dismissed from my office.
Veronica is a 27 year old female who I saw 1 time in the summer of 2008. The patient lost her health insurance soon after her August appointment with me, and has been sampled with products since; once even having her products mailed to her when the cost of gas was so high. When the patient recently demanded that we continue to mail her samples, she would not take no for an answer. She was extremely rude to each of my nurses, who were happy to put a large bag of samples up front for her to pick up. After talking to at least 3 of my nurses, she demanded to talk to me. When I spoke to her, I supported my nurses' policy that we cannot routinely mail products to patients. We were happy to have her pick up samples, we were happy to see her in follow up, we were happy to offer over the counter suggestions. Our practice strives to offer a service that does not exist elsewhere, but there is a line of what we can tolerate or accept. Dr. Lori Schaen..... As nurses, who had to deal with this patient on the phone, we felt that we had done everything we could to accomodate her. The review refers to one nurse, but she spoke to multiple nurses and Dr. Schaen. We are sorry that she did not have a positive experience at this office, but we try very hard to go out of our way. It is unfortunate that our efforts were not appreciated. Penni, Natalie, and Becky.

Response to Both Dr. Shaen & her Nurses:
I have chosen to not support your business because I believe my experience was not acceptable. I am entitiled to my opinion just as I am entitled to share it with other patients.
Secondly, I had visited the Practice months before seeing Dr. Shaen and was seen by Dr. Kurtin. Dr. Kurtin made me wait for an unreasonable time and proceeded to dismiss me when I asked him to check my moles. He said he didn't have the time and he would check them at my follow up visit. I know that I had said that in my follow up visit. My follow up visit I chose to see Dr. Shaen and at that time I DID have health insurance. I just wasn't in the habit of throwing 50 dollars away to see a Dr. who was not interested in me or my condition. I DID have insurance when I saw Dr. Shaen and when I say the regime that she put me on was a small fortune it was. It totaled to over 175 with insurance for all the medications I had to fill. So YES, when I ran out and didn't have insurance I asked for samples until my insurance kicked back in. Please check your records before you make a statement that isn't correct!
The nurse was incredibly rude and another review also mentioned how nasty the nurse was when she called in for help with a REACTION! Even the receptionist said that it wasn't the first time she had heard that and she would make it a point to let the Dr. know.
I will not be made to look bad or like some disgruntled customer over some mere samples when that was NOT the case. I was not happy with the service before I saw Dr. Shaen or after!
**I would also like to add that I have not spoken to other nurses. I spoke only to Dr. Shaen's Nurse whom I do not remember her name and was also rude to another reviewer on another site.**

Fraudulent billing practices. I have insurance and when came time to leave they said that they knew exactly what my insurance company would pay and wanted me to pay the difference in the office. We set up payment arrangements and they mailed me a copy of the bill. The bill had services that I had not requested on it. Even stated that I had a surgery which I never authorized a surgery. The business manager told me that the exfoliant that the doctor gave me, which the doctor asked me if he could spray me with was a surgery. I did not go to the office for acne, i went for a rash. When I talked to my insurance company regarding the bill, they stated that it didn't seem right and the total they said that I was responsible for was $35.00 less than what the business manager told me. I do NOT recommend going to this office.
