- Nino's, opened in 1968, has been owned and operated by Antonio Noviello since 1982. Originally from the Amalfi Coast of southern Italy, Antonio worked in Monte Carlo, then Bermuda where he met his wife Helen, an Atlanta resident. After moving to Atlanta in 1981, Antonio's life-long dream of owning his own restaurant became a reality when he purchased Nino's. For more than twenty years, Antonio has taken pride in serving authentic Italian Cuisine made with fresh, imported ingredients and cooked to order for each guest. His reputation for serving exceptional Italian cuisine has attracted devoted locals who return time and again, along with a long list of celebrities (see below) who had heard of Nino's reputation and stopped in to sample the fare. Many of the dishes on Nino's menu are original recipes brought from Italy by Antonio and his brother Giuseppe. Really friendly place with a good menu. Not too exhaustive, but a good variety that should provide something for everyone. Portions are not ""family style"" but are adequate for one. Prices are not cheap but the quality is in line with the menu prices and portions. Never left there hungry. Pasta not over done nor under done--just right!
Great bread and good wine and bar.
Free convenient parking.

While bringing my girlfriend to Ninos I was expecting something better than the last time I was there. We were seated promptly inside the restaurant which was steaming. It may have been 80 degrees out and they had the door open like it was going to make a difference in the restaurant. When I left my shirt was soaked. The fried mozzarella was soggy and served with a very bland marinara. The veal was a small portion and served overcooked. Trust me, you are better off down the street at Alfredos. At least it is consistent.

I absolutely love this restaurant. Some friends recommended to go to Alfredo's & Nino's (each having a high opinion of these restaurants). After having the worst meal of my life at Alfredo's, I went to Nino's & ordered the same menu items & was instantly sold. I'm always satisfied - whether I try something new or I stick with my favorite eggplant dish. I would agree the service is touch & go at times, but I have never experienced a 'bad' meal here.

Lately I've been trying all the new ""Italian"" hotspots I'd read about. The other night, I returned to Nino's and realized that I don't need to try any other Italian places - Nino's is the most authentic, thoroughly satisfying and consistent meal I've had in a long time. The food manages to be both traditional and innovative at the same time. The special I ordered (a veal chop - out of this world) was so good I had to close my eyes while I ate!! My husband knows when that happens, I'm a very happy camper. He had the pasta, which was flavored with the just the perfect amount of saffron and garlic. And, the wine pairings recommended by the waiter were spot-on for each dish we tried. I am a very picky diner, and I have to say that Nino's was well worth the trip. I noticed 2 well-known Atlanta chefs dining there, as well!

Just down the road from The Colonade, on Cheshire Bridge Road, sits the tiny reliable Nino's. I've been eating on and off here for about twenty-five years. It seems like I just go in cycles with Italian, and this time of year, I'm in that cycle. It's tiny and can be almost overlooked, and parking is not that easy. Once inside, you feel like you are in some cozy Trattoria in Little Italy. Dark red walls, tacky black vinyl booths, and old school servers. It's always the same for me. Clams Oreganata, Veal Piccata, and Italian Wedding soup, if it's available. My partner always gets their very good prepared Escargot with puff pastry, and Veal Oscar. Rounding the evening out is that desert cart that is rolled up to the table. Too many choices, but it's usually that wonderful Coconut Cake. You don't have to dress-up here, it's super casual with a NY attitude. We love it!

Nino's Cucina was by far the worst dining experience I've ever had in Atlanta all the way around. The service was not just lousy, but rude. The food was barely edible. I ordered a salad with ""Italian dressing"" (thinking it would be easy for the server to remember since she was SO bad), and that must be some kind of joke in the kitchen there because the dressing was, well frankly I don't know what it was. It was like a gloopy, grey-colored jello-like substance that looked (and tasted -- I actually tasted it!) suspiciously like a certain substance that bursts out of a certain male body part. There were four of us at the table who each got something different, and not a single one of our entrees was even close to good! One of us got a pasta with shrimp alfredo, and the sauce was a bright, neon yellow. I seriously thought he had ordered a curry dish, because it was like the brightest yellow you could imagine. Ugh, it was seriously in my top 2 of all time worst experiences in a restaurant in my entire life. Do not go there for any reason.

Last evening after reading the existing reviews on Ninos...we ventured down for dinner. We were promptly seated...and so began the rushed service. Clearly they were understaffed, maybe not so clear to the management. The martinis come in very small glasses, unacceptable given the price. The calamari was chewy at best...there are much better examples of calamari in the city. The Caesar salad was very good, the entrees were all fine examples of great Italian food. As we were coming towards the close of our entrees the waiter began to clear the table. I asked him to stop as we were not finished with our food. Five minutes later he asked if there was anything else, coffee, tea or a check. We wondered why our waiter was not rolling over the massive dessert tray to our table...they missed out on selling us more food. This is a prime example of your restaurant only being as good as your weakest link...their's was service.
