My wife, our two year old son, and a neighbor decided to go here for an evening meal. We ordered a small pizza and a salad ...some 40 mins later our food had not yet arrived. Upon asking our waitress how much longer our order would take she responded aggressively saying it wasn't her problem that we were behind other customers. Furthermore she said if I had a problem I should speak to the manager. I spoke to the manager and whilst doing so, with son in arms, she verbally abused us. Earlier on in the evening she walked by our table swearing obout a customer. This person is not fit to be working in any restaurant let alone a family orientated restaurant such as grant central pizza. the manager made a series of feeble excuses for why we had not received our order and also told me the waitress had a history of mental health issues. We did not pay for the food that we did not receive and left quite shaken by the verbal abuse I had received. In summary ...do not go here, this is without question the worst service we have ever received at a restaurant.

Grant Central on Cherokee is our favorite neighborhood takeout spot. On those nights when we're just too tired to cook, have too much going on or we get those unexpected visitors, Grant Central's the spot. The pizza is good and I personally love their pastas and salad.

Gives you that good feeling that only a hole-in-the-wall type joint like this can provide. Good pizza, decent atmosphere, and a friendly staff.

Great place to order take-out if you're in the neighborhood. Have a beer if you get there before the order is up.

Good pizza,But dont like all the kids running around unsupervised. Is this chucky cheese? Take charge of those kids!!!

This is a great restaurant. The calzones are great and will fill you up. The eggplant parmesan is also great. The atmosphere is good. The servers are cool without being overly hip. Pretty much everything is good, and it's kid friendly. I see that there are some complaints in here about separate checks from people who are math challenged. I hope that doesn't keep people from trying out this good place.

Pizza is decent, semi circle booths add to the decor, staff friendly. Nice family run feeling from the place. Parking is a limited and the lot has serious potholes.

Some of the best pizza in the city. I love the pasta--you can add any pizza toppings to the pasta. Some of the folks complaining on here seem like poor sports--you don't like an entree so you shouldn't have to pay for it? You ask for separate checks and then don't tip the waitress? Come on. GCP is a laid-back, comfortable neighborhood pizza joint. Not a 5 star restaurant. The staff is not stuck-up and the food is good. Good for dates, families, whatever. Highly recommended.

I just moved to the Grant Park area and had hear that GCP was worth a visit. When my guest and I arrived, the restaurant was empty and we sat at a nice table by the window that looked out onto a beautiful tree lined street. Shortly after we arrived, the rest of the restaurant filled up with baby-bearing families and the noise was bad. I ordered the vegetable lasagne and my friend got pesto pasta. My lasagne consisted of two noodles and a bowl full of greasy cheese. I kept looking, but there weren't actually any perceptable vegetables in it. My friend's pasta was better, but certainly not the best pesto sauce (too oily and not blended properly). The waiter came to collect the plates and after noticing that I hadn't eaten any of my entree, removed it but didn't bother to replace or refund it. The view was the only thing that really stood out about this place.

The other gem in Grant Park, across the street from Dakota Blue, is this cute little Italian joint. They have a good selection, including good desserts and specials. You can also get pizza by the slice or the whole pie- similar to the Grant Central in East Atlanta- however the ambience here is much, much nicer. It's darker, and at night could pass for romantic. The servers are still your hip, college age looking folks, but the food is great and dependable. They have a great salad here, and the pizza is top notch. If you're in the area it's definitely worth checking out.

I found Grant Central on a search for restaurants near my hotel, and I was not disappointed. Grant Central Pizza is ensconced in a gorgeous older and peaceful neighborhood not far from bustling downtown Atlanta and Turner Field. The tree-lined streets and beautiful houses lend an air to the neighborhood you won't find at your local Papa John's - and the food is simply delicious. Steaming hot pizza with drippy cheese, just the right amount of pepperoni, and a superb, crispy crust makes Grant Central one of the finest pizzerias I've yet to find (and the price is right, too!). The service was excellent, too - the wait staff really makes you feel at home. The next time you're in Atlanta, don't miss this hidden gem!

I was introduced to GCP about a year ago, and I've introduced every out of town visitor and family member to the place. It has great food, quircky wait staff, excellent prices! The calazone is the second best in the city, and their chocolate crunch cake is great!\r They have a small parking lot with a deep sinkhole on one side of the entrance, so be careful when entering! \r

For some reason, it is impossible to find good NY style pizza in the city of Atlanta. I can think of four or five great NY style places outside the city- Marietta, Acworth, Kennesaw, etc. \r \r Grant Central is hands down is the closest to NY in the city of Atlanta. Good food and cheap too!

The atmosphere made me feel like I was back in Rome walking down a small ally. The food was absolutely excellent. Great pizza and pasta, prices are very reasonable. Especially when food is so overpriced for horrible quality. And to the person that did not read the sign that says no splitting checks, you obviously never worked in a restaurant. I suggest you go back and pay with cash (if they let you back in). I am new in town and they have earned my business and I will tell everyone I meet how good it is.

I've lived down the street from this joint for the past year, and go there about twice a month. I'm a picky eater, and I've never been disappointed. The wait staff, are young, charming, attentive and engaging. During the ice storm of '04 they were the only game in down when I had weekend guest from NY. Despite being packed, and out of many items on the menu, the staff were all great and entertaining....despite the fact our waitress had to walk (slide) to work from Ormewood. The ogre below who complains of the food and the service really ought to look in the mirror before they go anywhere in public. Highly Recommended.

The pizza was dry, and the waitresses obviously can not calculate an order. Simply requesting to have a check split between 3 people, seems to be rocket science. After having a stank attitude durign for the entire night, and flopping around the check... she did not recieve a tip. Once realizing this, she assertively told my party ""Dont ever come back!"" As a potential eater at this establishment, you be the judge.

This is the best VALUE resturant in the area. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu and the specials generally are outstanding. Service is very good but keep in mind it gets quite busy almost every night so often you have to wait a little while for a table. The Calzones are fabulous, they are made to order with your selections, expect the best calzone you ever had if you order one.

Grant Central has great food at very affordable prices. They do have one of the best, if not the best, calzones in town. There is not host/hostess, so make sure and go early if it's the weekend because tables fill up fast.

Grant Central is the BEST PLACE FOR FAMILY PIZZA NIGHT. There pizza is cooked in a big brick oven. It is the best pizza in the ATL. My family and i love the cardiac arrest pizza with onions. They need to build one in the Jonesboro area. We moved away from the area. We miss our pizza night out at Grant Central. The Brookshire's
