Gail's is a wonderful shop with a PLETHORA of unique fabrics to choose from! I had the unfortunate task of finding an exact match to an off-white peachy-ish nudey tope beige chiffon for my prom dress. As impossible as I thought the task was, gail and other employees gave me great advice and helped me find a color that was a PERFECT match. I was thrilled. Go here BEFORE you visit any other generic, over-priced store. They honestly do have everything. The fabrics were prime quality.. and where else can I get three yards of silk chiffon for eleven bucks? In love.

The store is cluttered and difficult to navigate - but in an inspirational way. Whether you are a novice seamstress or a seasoned veteran, Gail K's vast and impressive selection has the perfect fabric for you. From cashmere to ray-on, the prices are reasonable and the ladies who run the store are helpful beyond belief.

Rude Staff, decent selection, overpriced
You can't find anyone to help you with the fabrics, but they'll be right there to harass you about bringing in a bottled water. The sign says "No open drinks." So what's your problem with a CLOSED bottle of water? And where were you when I was trying to make a selection or discover prices? Shop here if you're a pretentious hobbyist with money to burn (yes, they really ARE charging $80/yd for that wool fabric) and already know what you are looking for, and know all their stock, because they sure don't know what they have there, and wouldn't help you if they did. They told me that their wool was on the other side of the store from where it actually was, and did not explain the differences between the different types of silks. I know some, but not others, and was confused by their terminology. I think they took this as a signal to disappear and not talk to me again unless it was to bother me about the bottled drink that I was conscientiously not drinking while in their stupid, pretentious store.
It would be nice if you could find their selection in a store where the staff were not rude or indifferent and would actually bother to take the time to sell you their products. The selection is professional, but the idiots who run this place are strictly amateur night.

I just fell in love with this store. It reminded me of my favorite fabric store near Canal Street in NYC. I was just too thrilled to find this store and start shopping. I have been several times and will continue to go. Staff is friendly and so are the customers.
