Overall
Atmosphere
Food
Service

In my mind I classify this restaurant as a pretty southern one. In terms of setting, There are cheap plastic chairs here and the parking is kind of sketchy. In terms of food:

Jerk Chicken + Rice+ Black Beans– My roommate thought the chicken was too spicy for his liking but he said you can’t go wrong with the rice and beans. Corn bread was a bit on the dry side though.
Turkey Meatloaf+ Green Beans+ Mashed Potatoes- I enjoyed this meatloaf and would get it again! This combo was pretty tasty but the green beans were somewhat average and could’ve been better in my opinion.

BBQ Chicken+Mac & Cheese + Broccoli– My friend liked the barbecue chicken and he let me try his Mac & Cheese. I thought it tasted great and liked that it was made with white cheddar!

My best friend got the sweet tea with her dish and she mentioned that it wasn’t that great. She also said that the ranch for her salad also seemed water down in a way. Wish we had better things to say about those items!

Best place for pasta with homemade sauce or jerk chicken. I've never had a bad meal. The folks that work there are tip notch! We were their neighbors for years and they would always lend a hand if I needed help carrying things into the house.

A must-do experience

Eats is becoming somewhat of a legend. Excellent food; low prices; kitschy atmosphere. What more can you ask for? What I don't get is how they can make super-simple things like a sweet potato so darn good. I mean just a plain baked sweet potato, but it's somehow just excellent. Maybe their secret is that they don't mess it up with fancy gunk or cheap ingredients, but just deliver real, wholesome food.

Ok food, might try again

The BBQ chicken was tender and flavorful but the macaroni-n-cheese was a little bland. The cornbread and collards were ok. I brought the turkey lasagna home to my son and he loved it, I wished I had a taste but he ate every morsel. It smelled delicious. The staff is not rude, but I would not call them friendly either. I might go again to try other dishes but I live in Alpharetta, so it is not worth a special trip.

I've loved eats since the day they opened it

Every time I come back to Virginia Highlands I always go to eats three or fout times a week for lunch, BEFORE or AFTER the crowds set in. The crew is always happy and always grill my garlic bread the way I want it. I go for the green pasta with turkey sauce and a side of pesto, or the jerk chicken with greens and beans. Bob the owner is always on the floor bussing tables and there is a great mix of suits, blue collar, and students. I get a kick from the black chicks dressed to the nines. So it's not fancy, but always clean. If you have a hard time getting on to Ponce take a left out of the parking lot and go through the neighborhood to Monroe and go left to head to Boulevard and downtown. Turn left on Ponce from Monroe to head east toward Decatur. They do take plastic, contrary to other reviews and if you need some resturant to make you feel important or to kiss your a*s please go somewhere else away from the neighborhood because we don't want you here. I'd like a place like this in my new town.

one of my most enjoyable dining experiences

My friend dragged me to this place last week and I had one of the most enjoyable dining experiences in my life. Their food selection was really enticing and I had a very hard time choosing which entr?e to order. Their friendly wait staff recommended their best-sellers, which was very awesome. It was so flavorful. I really liked it a lot. I was definitely pleased with both the food and the service.

5 STAR FOOD AND SERVICE

HI This restaurant is really the best ever. Start with the minute you walk in the door the workers are so friendly and so willing to walk a first timer through the menu and the set up. We were there on a Sunday and all workers were young guys with great smiles and very upbeat attitudes. The food that Chef Steven Bacon presents is totally over the top. Start with portion size. It is normally super sized. The Taste is total heaven and you can taste that this food is made with this mans heart and soul plus his natural talent. The menu is simple and straight forward and there REALLY is something for everyone of ALL ages. This restaurant is a ""foodies"" heaven. There are so many choices you can spend forever mixing and matching the combos and never get tired of it. Even the salad dressings are fantastic. I recommend ""EATS"" to everyone and anyone who wants excellent food, great friendly service and fantastic low prices. An added bonus is that it really is a great family place too. I give ""EATS"" a New York 5 Star Rating!!!!!!!!!!
