This analysis is used for very early detection of damage to the optic nerve from glaucoma in patients who are glaucoma suspects. We also utilize this technology to help us insure that the patients that we do treat for glaucoma are getting the maximum benefit and protection from their medical and/or surgical treatment.
Macular Degeneration
Digital photography of the inside of the eye is used to follow subtle changes in the health of the eye related to glaucoma, very small freckles in the back of the eye (watching for the same type of change we all watch for with freckles on our skin), diabetic eye disease, vascular changes related to high blood pressure or elevated cholesterol and macular degeneration.
Laser Eye Surgery
At Ross Eyecare, our patients benefit from our extensive medical network established with the goal of providing the highest level of care for our patients. Although we manage many medical conditions of the eye in our office, occasionally surgical intervention is required. In the case of LASIK and other surgical procedures, we provide in-depth consultation as well as extensive pre- and post- operative care. Cataracts
Lens Replacement Surgery is essentially the same procedure as cataract surgery. For patients who may have very early cataracts or at that age group, this procedure is often the most obvious choice. Newer lenses that correct both distance and near vision are now being introduced.
Cataract Surgery
Cataracts occur when the lens inside the eye that is normally clear becomes clouded, resulting in a decrease in vision that cannot be corrected with glasses, contacts or even LASIK. While cataracts typically occur during the natural aging process of the eye, other factors such as medications and trauma to the eye can also cause them to development. Luckily, because of tremendous breakthroughs in surgical technology, cataract surgery can provide excellent visual outcomes with relatively few risks for the average cataract patient.
