    Nasty in Lawrenceville Location!

We wanted to try something new and had a coupon. Went in this past Sunday 5/23/10 and the floors were so nasty with food and trash. The grouper was served with a hugh bowl of watery pasta and had NO taste. The eggplant parmasan was 3 very small pieces covered in tons of sauce and cheese. The salad and house dressing was very bland. I will never visit or recommend this place!

    Yuck!

This was my third time to this restaurant in less than two years. The last time I was there was between eight and 12 months ago. The first two times the Lasagna was great and that is the reason I wanted to go back here today(Nov. 14th, 2009). It all started with the rolls. They had no taste and neither my wife nor I thought they were tasty. They were too dry and tasted like they were missing something. Then we ordered Lasagna ($11.00) and Veal Marsala($15.00) and they both were very bland and spiceless. The Veal Marsala was three small pieces of meat on a huge plate with a few mushrooms in a sauce that tasted like water. It had no taste at all. I felt like I was in a foreign country that didn't know how to cook food. It was disgusting. The Lasagna my wife had was watered down, the sauce tasted like it came out of a can, and there were no spices on the food to make it tasty at all. Along to go with that the waitress didn't ask us if we were satisfied with the meal until after we had finished our meal. Then before I left the owner Bonnie Bambinelli was acting like a stuck up snob also. She was pointing me where to go, telling me where to stand, and acting like I should be serving her. I couldn't believe it. Please listen to my advice when I say do not waste your time with this restaurant. It's expensive, you'll be dissatisfied, and you'll wish you would have listened.

    We won't be going back!

    Provided by

I've lived in the neighborhood a couple of years and hadn't yet tried Bambinelli's. So, my adult son, his girlfriend and I decided to try it one evening. \r \r The garlic rolls were pretty good, and our service was excellent. That's all. \r \r My son had lasagna which was unrecognizable. It looked like a bowl of red mush. It was cold in the middle, and he had to mix it to be able to eat it. I had the fried ravioli and baked ziti. The ravioli was terrible, very greasy tasting. The ziti was so uninteresting that it was not good. My son's girlfriend had eggplant parmagiana. Her dish was so salty that she couldn't eat it. \r \r When the waiter came to take our plates, my son's girlfriend expressed that she didn't like hers because it was too salty. He took our plates away. \r \r When he brought the check, he hadn't charged for her dinner and mine. That was very nice. We didn't request that. He just did it on his own. We were so impressed that we thought perhaps we should try this restaurant another evening. \r \r When the waiter returned, my son asked if this was an ""off"" night, if they had a new cook, or if it was always like this. The waiter replied that it was always like this. \r \r As we were leaving, the man at the entrance mumbled something at us. When my son asked him what he said, he repeated, ""Watch that sait intake."" This was not a friendly remark, but a snide remark. Unbelievable!

    Molto Buono!

My family and I were in Atlanta on an overnight stay. The Mrs. had stated earlier while on the road that she had a taste for some Italian food. After arriving in town and checking into the hotel we were famished. Once we settled in, we immediately started searching for somewhere to eat. While my was diligently combing the yellowpages, I simply looked in the hotel guest services book and saw "Bambinelli's." I suggested that it would be perfect because it was very close to the hotel and it was "Italian Food." Well, we tried it and both of us agreed that it was by far some of the best Italian food we've had and the service was excellent! Even my finicky 2 year old daughter described the food as "terribly delicious," and ate a little more than usual.

    Great family-run Italian place

    Provided by

I can't believe that we just recently discovered this place... When you're in the mood for some home-style Italian food, this is the place to go. Portions are huge and the food is so flavorful (the meatballs are the best I've ever had). It's clear that the kitchen takes pride in every dish. Wait staff is friendly and attentive and the owner is always there making sure that everything is running smoothly.

    Great Garlic Fix!!

    Provided by

The food at Bambinelli's is always GREAT!! Even on nights when they are busy the owner, Bonnie has an uncanny ability to keep track of the order of her patrons on her mental waiting list! :) It's a home cooked Italian meal. The salmon alfredo was unbelievable and the spaghetti & meatballs were fantastic too! The atmosphere is calm and relaxed. Bonnie has even added flat screen/HD TV's to accomodate avid sports fans! Her staff is incredible and hospitable! We'll be back for our next garlic fix soon!

    One of Atlanta's best!

    Provided by

Bambinelli's is without a doubt one of the best, if not THE best neighborhood Italian restaurants in Atlanta. I have been dining at Bambinelli's for more than 15 years and have never had a bad experience. The pizza is just about the best anywhere and the pasta dishes are wonderful and varied. I brought very picky friends from Philly to eat there recently and they agreed it was about the best Italian they had had. I lived in Italy for 2 summers and Bambinelli's is very reminiscent of an authentic (not Americanized) Italian dining experience. Bonnie Bambinelli, the owner and hostess, is most gracious and keeps such close tabs on folks coming in that she doesn't even need to write down a waiting list! She has often gone out of her way to make sure that diners are well served and happy. Bambinelli's is usually full, which speaks to its popularity among regulars and first-time diners as well. I would give Bambinelli's my highest recommendation, if you want a fantastic neighborhood Italian restaurant, and the special attention that only Bonnie Bambinelli can give!

Great, Authentic New York Italian Food at a Great Price!

    Provided by

My family & I have found a new favorite for great Italian food in Atlanta. While my teenagers love the New York style pizza with very fresh toppings and tangy sauce, my wife and I particularly like the Parmesians...she loves the eggplant and mine is the veal. This restaurant has been open for a quarter of a century, a true testament to the personable proprietor (Bonnie), the quality of the food, the affordability of the dining experiance, and the friendliness of the servers! I can't wait for the spring weather to sit on the patio and enjoy the best of New York right here in Atlanta.

The Worst ""Italian"" Restaurant, or Any Type of Restaurant, I've Ever Been to

    Provided by

My first impression of Bambinelli's proved to be accurate. I thought that it would be a horrible experience from the beginning just because of the owner/hostess's inhospitable manner and rudeness when we walked in. She hurriedly shooed us against the wall to wait without taking our names or even greeting us. Servers then proceeded to practically run over us as they were running from table to table, even coming through the lobby. When we were finally seated, we had to take silverware off of another table. The ambiance is absolutely dreadful, from the fake bricks on the walls to the plastic ""wooden"" tables and dull silverware comparable to that of an elementary school cafeteria. Our server seemed nice enough, but he was awfully slow, as he was somehow busy with a million other tables (their first times too I'm guessing). The food was pricey for such low quality; I had the salmon over linguine alfredo, which tasted like cat food. I'm guessing the salmon was frozen and the sauce was made from a Lipton packet. Anyway, upon leaving, the hostess/owner/whatever didn't even thank us for coming or say goodbye. All in all, it was a horrible experience. The only reason that people actually frequent this place is because there's no other Italian for miles, so what do they have to compete with? Next time I want Italian, I'll head over to Nino's or Alfredo's on Cheshire Bridge Rd instead of settling for this dingy little joint.

Great family-owned Italian restaurant, great customer service

    Provided by

This place is a great family restaurant. Bonnie the owner is always sitting at the counter by the front door and makes you feel very welcomed. The food is very good. The garlic knots are amazing. Other great things we've ordered are chicken parm and chicken marsala. The Greek salad is also recommended. Definitely one of the nicest restaurants in the Northlake area.

    The garlic rolls are amazing!

    Provided by

Bambinelli's is a family owned and operated little Italian place. It's noisy and there are usually lots of kids. The food can be a bit uneven. I've had some things that were disappointingly bland but the veggie or meat lasagna are always good. My friend always gets an eggplant dish that isn't on the menu right now but they make it for her and she loves it. And then there are the garlic rolls....always hot and dripping in garlic butter! Yum! We'll keep going back.

    Mostly not very good

    Provided by

The Shrimp and Scallops were dreadful. They were served with a large portion of cappelini. Nothing seemed to be seasoned with anything other than white wine. The scallops in particular had zero flavor. We also ordered Veal Marsala. The veal was too thick and a little tough. The sauce had good flavor, but it was very, very thin. All was not lost, though. There were two bright spots. The veal was served with a side of spaghetti with red sauce, which was very good. The other good item was the Chocolate Mousse Cake. It was very rich and satisfying. Even with two tasty items, this meal was soooooooooooooo not worth $50, including delivery.

    Consistent.....

Bonnie and her son run a wonderful family restaurant. We eat there at least once a week. The organ is a great experience! The food is flavorful, the shrimp are large and the veggie items are satisfying. Also, the garlic bread knots are worth the trip!

    Mama Mia Bambinelli's is Great!

    Provided by

Located in the Sports Authority shopping center behind Northlake Mall (food court side), I've enjoyed many a good meal at Bambinelli's when I lived in the area ... and I've also had them cater with take-out to the company that I worked for then. Never a complaint. Pizza with flavor. Great Lasagna and Ziti. Love their meatball subs. Only shortcoming I ever had was that the old man who played the organ music on weekends tended to pump the volume up and down alot ... but he's authentic (and probably Papa Bambinelli) so get seated back a way, or outside on the terrace. He plays great music ... just changes volume too much. <grin />

    Excellent Experiences

    Provided by

Bambinelli's offers the best Italian food in the metro area. I've been a patron for over 5 years and never had a bad experience! The food is always phenomenal, the service is true New York and prices are very reasonable for food and wine. Don't leave without trying the Spumoni and the cannoli!
