I ORDERED A PIZZA FROM THERE FOR THE FIST TIME AND IT WILL BE THE LAST. I HAVE BEEN ORDERING PIZZA'S FOR MANY YEARS AND HAVE NEVER HAD ANYONE ASK FOR THE THREE DIGITS ON THE BACK OF MY CARD. I ASKED HER WHY AND SHE SAID WE CAN'T PROCESS THE ORDER WITHOUT THAT INFORMATION. THAT WAS NO ANSWER. I TOLD HER THAT MY QUESTION WAS THE SAME. SHE SAID SHE HAD ANSWERED IT. NO SHE HAD NOT. I CALLED A PJ IN ATLANTA AND SPOKE TO A VERY NICE POLITE GENTLEMAN THAT APOLOGIZED FOR HER BEHAVIOR AND WENT ON TO EXPLAIN THAT THEY HAVE A NEW SYSTEM NOW AND IT REQUIRES THEM TO ENTER THAT INFORMATION. I DON'T THINK SHE KNEW THE ANSWER. I CALLED BACK AND ASKED WHO THE MANAGER WAS AND WOULDN'T YOU THIS THING WAS THE MANAGER. SHE'S SO FULL OF HERSELF. I THINK THE POSITION OF MANAGER HAS GIVEN HER THE BIG HEAD. IT'S JUST TOO BAD THAT HEAD DOESN'T HAVE THE SENSE GOD GAVE A HEAD OF LETTUCE. THE WITCH IS UNINFORMED AND RUDE. NOW ON A MORE POSITIVE NOTE, THE PIZZA YOUNG MAN THAT DELIVERED IT WAS POLITE, ARTICULATE, CLEAN AND NEAT, VERY PROFESSIONAL AND ABOUT HIS BUSINESS. THE PIZZA WAS THE BOMB. HOT AND PERFECT, THE COKE WAS SO COLD I DIDN'T NEED TO PUT IT ON ICE. 100% PERFECT DELIVERY SERVICE THAT EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS. 100% PERFECT PIZZA THAT EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS AND FOR THESE 2 REASONS, I'M A PAPA JOHN'S PIZZA. MANAGEMENT IS DUMBER THAN A BOX OF SAND
We are in town for my sons baseball tournament. We were hungry for pizza and stopped here because of the high reviews on the yellow page app. We were not disappointed. The food and service were great. The garlic knots were hot, soft & chewy. They were excellent by themselves or with the red sauce. The spinach artichoke dip was full of flavor. It comes with little pizza dough squares dusted with Italian seasoning that really compliments the dip. Their Greek salad had a very flavorful dressing and was full of goodies. We had the 2 ton Tonys pizza with the hand tossed dough. The topings were delishious and plentiful. The dough was the perfect thickness and had a great flavor too. We are use to pizza places the have good toppings or good cheese or good dough but never all three. These guys nailed all three. We had a gluten free Bianca pizza too and it was just as yummy as the rest of the food. The overall experience was 5 star worthy. The food was great and even though the place was full our waitress (Ashe) kept stopping by to check on us. Next time were in town we will be stoping by.
Antico Pizza has won all kinds of accolades in the short time it's been open in Atlanta. CNN has reported on it, real Italian people have said it's "Top In Class". And while it's good, I simply do not understand the hype. Antico's website (super annoying, please get rid of the typical Dean Martin music) is about as self-aggrandizing at it gets. Italian dude inspired by pizza is sharing his gift for making pizza with us! Aren't we so grateful! Like Holeman & Finch, I don't like places that are full of themselves. This is one of those places. Yes, your authentic Italian ovens are nice. Yes, the flour you use is top quality. Yes, I know you think it's cool to say "we are open until we run out of dough." But I don't think that's cool. I think it's pretentious: you're a pizza place, not a restaurant flying in fish from New England. Read more of my review at: http://3nosh.com/antico-pizza-atlanta-westside/
