As in a court case, the process of mediation provides a method of conflict resolution. However, it is much more informal and does …
The holiday festivities are over, but January doesn't have to be a drag. It's actually the best time to finish projects and organize your life – all while having a little fun.
Holly Fairbairn is an attorney that is HONEST! She possess an impeccable character and a rare degree of PERSONAL INTEGRITY that is second to none! She delivers OUTSTANDING SERVICE as evidenced by my own personal experience with her when I became disabled. She helped me get SSI while I was in and out of hospitals, appointments and waiting on my handicapped apartment. Finally, after a 2 1/2 year period, I inquired about my SSDI on my own and won my case. The SSA had her name on file as my attorney and sent her a significant part of my disability earnings. I called and spoke with one of her exceedingly professional and personable assistants, Melissa. She relayed the message and Holly Fairbairn herself returned my call quickly and stated that she would indeed return the money to me since there was no need to go to court to win my case. She had her other excellent and courteous assistant, Kirsten, call me to confirm my address and mail me the check. Holly did not have to call me back, return my money or make it that simple. BUT, SHE DID! She chose to step up and do the right thing just by my asking her to consider what had occurred. Everyone knows that is virtually unheard of in these situations! I am very appreciative of having had the privilege of being her former client! She is selective in who she chooses to work with, so, consider yourself blessed if she takes on your case. You will know that you have an attorney that you can trust! I highly recommend Holly Fairbairn because she goes above and beyond even when no one is looking and that personal integrity IS WORTH RAVING ABOUT!!! Thank you for the OUTSTANDING SERVICE AND THE OUTRAGEOUS HONESTY!!! You set the "Bar" at a whole new level that is TRULY INSPIRING!!!
When our car was rear-ended at a traffic light, we were taken to the hospital in a world of pain. When I was released days later, there were many solicitations from lawyers who wanted to handle our insurance cases, but we didn’t choose any of them; instead, we contacted the Davis Law Group, P.A., and we were happy that we did. Brian Davis listened compassionately, suggested professional health providers, outlined the steps in our cases, was available by phone and email for all questions that we had, and always acted with integrity. He limits his cases to what he and his staff of very capable assistants, Kristy, Lucas and Mandy, can handle, and they moved our cases through the confusing insurance system maze quickly and professionally, guiding us each step of the way. We are pleased with the settlement Brian negotiated, and relieved that we could avoid going to court. We were surprised at how Brian was able to take the worry off of our shoulders and handle the many details of the case while we worked on our recovery. We are extremely thankful for his help, and highly and unconditionally would recommend the Davis Law Group, P.A. to our friends and neighbors who may need his skilled legal assistance. He does what he says that he will do!
Attorney Brian Davis and his team of legal professionals were so down to earth and easy to work with that it was actually a pleasure to go through this ordeal with them. They treat you like a member of their family and talk to you like you have some intelligence (which we didn't find with some other lawyers we considered). Brian explained the law and our legal options every step of the way, and he gave us outstanding advice. He also always called us back and kept us informed about what was happening in our case. Brian was aggressive in dealing with the insurance company on the other side of our case, but we were very pleased with the recovery he got for us. Without his hard work, I'm sure that we would have been left with nothing. The insurance company completely denied our claim before we hired Brian, but he did a very thorough investigation of our accident and tracked down the two eyewitnesses that the insurance company claimed they couldn't find. These witnesses turned out to be the key to us winning the case because they backed up our version of the accident. Great job Brian! Thanks, CN
Although it was determined that my case could not be pursued (despite negligence by the defendant), what stood out to me right from the start with Attorney Brian Davis was his personalized and professional approach. He was the third attorney I consulted with on my case and was by far the most diligent. He was detailed in his approach to the matter and always responsive to my emails and phone calls. He took the time to explain his recommendations and he was always honest with me. I never felt rushed in conversations or that m case was unimportant nor did I ever feel like I was an intrusion on his time as some attorneys make you feel. Certainly I was hoping for a different outcome, but I sincerely appreciate Brian's efforts and expertise to follow up on all possible leads on my behalf. Living over four hours from where the incident occourred, this was immensely helpful for me. So even though I will not be able to recoup my losses I can move forward confident that everything that could be pursued legally had been thoroughly investigated. Thanks again.

Attorney Brian Davis is a consummate professional and one hard-hitting lawyer. I liked him from the very beginning with his intense but down to earth approach to handling serious personal injury cases like mine. One of the things I liked best was the way he always seemed to have time to talk or meet with me. I never felt rushed, and he always wanted to make sure that I knew, and understood, what was going on in my case. Even though we had to file a lawsuit, I always felt that he was in total control. Every step was planned out ahead of time, and there were no surprises. He has a great mind and always seems to be thinking several steps ahead of the other side. His staff, Liz & Kristy, were awesome and very friendly. I could not have asked for anything more in an attorney. He gets my highest recommendation. He absolutely earned it. I was very pleased with everything about Brian from beginning to end. And we got a great result!
In January 2011, I was in a van accident that nearly cost me my life. My son in law knew I would need much help after recovery, so he sought out an attorney and he found Attorney Brian Davis. From the day I met Brian, I was immediately assured that he was not only a competent attorney, but was also a man of true concern and compassion for hurting people. He responded immediately and came to see me in the hospital. At one of the most frightening times of my life, he see me in the hospital. At one of the most frightening times of my life, he came with great encouragement and hope that he would do all he could to help me through the tragedy that occurred. I not only had a great attorney, but made a wonderful friend. His staff was so courteous and helped me every time I called. I could not recommend a better person to represent anyone in need, and am very grateful for the outcome.
Staff is generally nice. My biggest issue is actually getting fast call backs for results. For example, I had an ultrasound done on my abdomen at the beginning of the month, and here it is over 3 weeks later and still have not had any contact about my results. When I call, my doctor is out and I was told "I'll leave a message but I have no idea when she will get back with you". I know doctors need their vacations too, but this is the third time I have tried to either get results back or make an appointment and received this response. I even had to reschedule an appointment the day before I was to be seen because the doctor was not going to be in. It is very frustrating rearranging my schedule with such late notice from their office. Once you are able to make it to the office, the office staff is really nice.
Dr. Sinclair is the best of the best. Extremely knowledgeable, thorough, trained in homeopathy and acupuncture as well. Recently we needed an urgent care visit for our senior kitty. Chester ingested some string from a rotisserie chicken and, of course, we were going out of town the next day. It was after 6 pm on a Wednesday and I called the clinic and they recommended we bring him by. Chester was injected with a medication to induce vomiting - and it literally took about 5 minutes and the string was out of his system. The visit was only $82 and we couldn't have been happier and Chester acted like nothing had ever happened. Was very grateful for the expanded hours at Haw Creek and the level of care! Happy to have Dr. Sinclair running Meridian Animal Hospital in South Asheville too! Our furries get the best of care!
I'm almost 50 and had a very long relationship with my first family doctor until he retired. His approach to an illness was pretty much on par with the way that Dr. McNeill manages my health now. It's refreshing to find a doctor that embraces the best technology out there for running his practice as well as serving his patients. Gone are the day long visit for a simple appointment. You can schedule an appointment usually the same day and you're not stuck in a waiting room. I also credit him with saving my life in his approach to what seemed like a simple kidney or bladder infection. His being on top of it resulted in finding a tumor that still resulted in the loss of a kidney but I personally feel it could have been worse if I had been seeing another family doctor.
Choosing the right vet for your pet can be tough. After all, your furry friend can't tell you how he or she feels about the doctor. Even though you're not the one treated by the vet, whoever your animal sees is obviously your decision. Since many veterinary diseases and injuries can turn into emergencies very quickly, it's important to have a go-to vet. This way, you can ensure you'll know whom to see when your animal needs care.
Speak to your friends and family about vets who've treated their pets. You can even talk to your groomer or an animal shelter worker for referrals. When you visit the clinics you've been referred to, check that the facility is clean, animals are separated and the staff is calm and courteous. Not all clinics are American Animal Hospital Association accredited. This accreditation isn't a legal necessity, though a clinic that's AAHA-accredited is guaranteed to offer high-quality medical care. To receive accreditation, the clinic has to meet the AAHA's standards in the areas of facility, equipment and quality care.
If you're looking for a specialist, you want to make sure he or she is board-certified to practice in that specific area of animal medicine. You'll want to make sure your vet is also convenient to visit, so there are factors to take into account.
The type of animal you own should play a part in which vet you choose as well. While your options are vast if you have a dog or cat, you may have to visit an avian clinic for your bird or an exotics clinic for your snake.
Just as there are many types of doctors, there are many types of vets. Some focus on livestock or house pets, while others may specialize in dentistry or surgery. They may work in a veterinary clinic or zoo, working specifically with the animals housed there, or travel to farms to work with livestock. Since horse racing and other equestrian activities are so popular, some vets are trained to work just with horses.
Diseases, like malaria and yellow fever are also transmitted through animals. Some vets have insight to diseases that affect both humans and animals. Vets have contributed to the treatment and cure of many diseases that plagued both humans and their furry friends.
Government agencies employ veterinarians as well. When an animal comes from a foreign land, these vets quarantine them and check for any diseases that may be present in an effort to control new diseases that can be brought into the country. Other Specific types of vets include:
A vet assistant works alongside the veterinarian and helps out around the clinic. In some cases, they may assist vets in surgery or restrain struggling animals during tests or lab work. The everyday duties of a veterinary assistant include; monitoring and caring for animals after surgery, keeping medical records, cleaning animals' teeth, feeding and bathing them, cleaning cages, sterilizing surgical equipment, giving animals medication, collecting samples for testing and performing laboratory tests, and offering grief counseling to pet owners.
It's a good idea to bring your pet to the vet regularly. This way, he or she becomes familiar and comfortable with the care providers, and you can stay on top of your pet's preventative care. If the animal is small enough, bring it to the office in a carrier. Just as you visit the doctor for a yearly check up, you should bring in your pet for regular check ups as well. During a routine veterinary visit, the vet will probably begin by asking you if there have been any changes in your pet's behavior or habits.
The vet will then take your pet's vitals, like weight, temperature, pulse and respiration rate, and perform a physical examination of the pet. During a physical exam, the vet checks the abdomen for swollen organs, and the legs, feet and joints for any potential problems. Depending on the age, breed or condition of your pet, your veterinarian may also check the eyes, ears and mouth.
When your vet conducts a full body examination, he or she will check out your pet's coat and skin, noting any hair loss, itchy spots or lumps. Keep note of your animal's shedding habits so you can let the vet know if anything seems abnormal. The vet will check for parasites, fleas, ticks, mites and heartworms as well.
Vaccinations are also important to your pet, especially if you have a cat or a dog, and your vet will suggest that you make sure they're current. Keeping up to date with vaccinations can prevent your furry friend from getting distemper, rabies, hepatitis and lyme disease. Some vaccinations last longer than others, so speak to your doctor about staying caught up with your animal's shots.
Just like your own health insurance, you want to make sure your animal is covered before he or she needs veterinary services. Some common animal surgeries can cost thousands of dollars, and you don't want to end up having to foot a surprise bill that costs more than your paycheck.
There's no set price for pet health insurance. Costs can depend on factors such as where you live, the age and breed of your pet, and how much coverage you want. Before you take out a pet insurance policy, you'll want to meet with your vet to go over what he or she thinks your animal should be covered for. Many vets believe that you should make sure cancer, chronic disease, hereditary and congenital disease, and common breed-related medical conditions are all addressed in your policy.
Some pet owners can't afford insurance for their pet, so there are other options to make paying for surprise pet visits as easy as possible. Some pet stores have wellness plans - which tend to be much cheaper than an insurance policy - that offer shots, check ups, screenings and discounts on various procedures your pet may need. A lot of veterinary offices offer payment plans for pricey procedures as well, as long as you have decent credit history. For a last-ditch option, there are even privately funded organizations that offer pet owners financial aid for their pet's treatments.
