You will notice this guy has 2 offices…

You will notice this guy has 2 offices, one in Asheville and another one in Brevard, NC. Rice was hired to amend child support payments since my husbands job changed when he moved out of state and he was supposed to take care of car titles. My husband's ex wife refuses to take him off her car title and she refuses to sign off of his. Rice was very prompt getting back with us on the first phone call, sending his contract and cashing our check. Rice was supposed to go over the divorce before it went through but when he had it dismissed instead of refiling he allowed his ex to file. He never contacted us regarding the court date and my husband found out he was divorced a wk after the fact! Rice was also a no show for that court hearing that we did not know was scheduled. Amendments were never filed nor were the car titles dealt with. My husbands ex allowed her car to get reposed and then bought it back but since this car was in my husbands name this was reported to his credit putting it into a negative standing. His ex has also filed a lawsuit demanding more support knowing he doesn't make as much as he did, my husband went 6 months with NO job yet we still paid child support according to his new income. She is now trying to hold him in contempt for not paying original ordered support. This is just to be mean on her part but had Rice filed the amendments we would not be in this situation. It has been over a yr since Rice was hired and to this day he still has done nothing. It's been 8 months since Rice last contacted us. Even before this all happened Rice only called 3 times and sent few emails. It's clear that he took our money for services he does not intend on rendering. We did file a claim with the NC State Bar. We will also do the fee dispute in hopes to get our money back as the Bar does not handle that themselves. We tried calling recently and no surprise his number has been changed! Rice took our money and essentially disappeared, we still have the issues to deal with that we had when we first hired him and now we have to deal with the NC State Bar and fee dispute. Do NOT hire this atty, stay away!
