Waited on appointment for me and mu two children for over a month. They gave our appointments away because I didn't confirm. I thought it was a courtesy reminder. Last time I checked, I would call to reschedule or be penalized for missing an appointment if I couldn't make it. Going out of town now with two kids with tooth issues. Merry Christmas to you too, Mahec. What a joke...You might want to tell your new patients about this ridiculous rule instead of letting them find out the hard way. I will take my business elsewhere.
A real dentist asks a series of questions to put the patient at rest and looks in a mouth for the first session for more than 30 seconds, (it may've been even less time the dentist looked in my mouth at MAHEC.) A real dentist will not tell you the teeth beside the fractured tooth are fine and leave you to go home, look in the mirror, and discover that that the teeth he/she said are fine are actually chipped, injured and need work. This is what happened with MAHEC. A real dentist does not leave you to find additional problems for yourself that he/she can see, but MAHEC did manage to do this. IT IS A DENTIST'S JOB TO REPORT ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE TEETH OR POSSIBILITIES AS OF SUCH. MAHEC FAILED IN DOING THIS. A real dentist asks where the pain is of the mouth is, and will gather great detail instead of asking two or three questions about a shattered tooth and then stopping there, to discuss the options. A few questions is all I witnessed with MAHEC. A real dentist will check all the teeth in your mouth and your jaws after you've banged them. MAHEC obviously did not do this. I had to find further injury when I got home that the dentist missed. Also you shouldn't need to make sure to tell the dentist about a grinding habit that concerns you before a big procedure is to be carried out, because a real dentist will have already asked you about any grinding habits you may have. However this is what I witness with MAHEC. I'm reporting all these things without placing any names. the dentist, although cheery, was also rather careless about the procedure, but it seemed the people are just trained to think it's okay to be that way.
Do not go to this dental center! I have never had a bad experience in a dentist office before uuntil recently at Mahec. I was told I needed four crowns, all ceramic ones as soon as possible. I did get a second opinion, I only needed 3 crowns and I did not need to have them all ceramic, which are the most expensive ones. My experience at Mahec was very unnerving. The dentist was very rough during the procedure of putting in a new filling in place of the old one in preparation for the crown on one of my teeth. She put so much pressure on my jaw with the drilling tool I was afraid my molar was going to crack. After almost an hour of work on my tooth, while she took the metal equipment out of my mouth, a part of it came off and fell into the back of my throat. I did my best to not swallow and alerted her with my hands something fell in my throat. It took her almost a minute for her to see where it was and to pull it out. I can't believe I did not choke on it! My throat was sore for almost a week. After that horrible experience I knew I had to find another dentist who is much older and experienced. I am very disappointed with Mahec and their way of getting the most money they can with me. I do not recommend them period !!
MAHEC offers student doctors to poke and probe, misdiagnoses, over-prescribe, offer no continuity in care, multiple drug trials of same meds, rude and pompous "bedside" manner, no consideration for patients' input, injections straight into nerves, worse fitting partials and dentures and a roid director ranting and raving at patients. I had to go to a real doctor for new partials and treatment for nerve disorder after escaping. DON'T GET CAUGHT UP IN THEIR VICIOUS CYCLE. It's a school, and they're not doctors. Think more of yourself and your own health and go to a real doctor!
These guys are terrific. I've being going to MAHEC now for over one year. And my teeth are white and sparkly and well taken care of thanks to them. Oddly, I found them in the phone book. Lucky me. They are usually cheaper than other dentists, too. \r
I lucked out. One of my favorite dentists, who unfortunately recently left was Dr. Jeremy Ledford--who was exceptional!\r
I, too, love these guys!!!\r
I love these guys!! I recently had a denture emergency and could not wear my teeth. My dentures had developed hairline cracks and I had to remove them for fear they were about to break in half.
After calling around town, I learned that many dentist will not work on dentures that they did not make. Even the dentist in town that did make my dentures (Ladent) would not see me for three weeks. Everywhere I called, I was refused time and again. Then I called Mahec dental, by this time I was in full panic mode and was absolutely in tears. The wonderful receptionist worked me into the schedule within twenty-four hours. She told me that once I was a patient , if I ever have another emergency, I would be seen the same day.
The office environment is very friendly, clean and the Doctor and staff were so nice and kind. It was great!! I was amazed at the cost too, it was cheaper to fix my dentures at Mahec Dental than the price quoted to me from the office that made my dentures in the first place and who I might add, I just fired.
With Mahec, I now have a reliable, friendly and affordable dental office that understands that a girl just can't go without her beautiful smile. Thank you!!!
